I would like to know if it is possible to use 2 characters at the same time using 1 client?
Just wondering as I know many people use alts and I have even seen main and alt arguing with each other.

Wow, I'm just trying this out using 2 instances of 1 client as I have access to 2 characters of 2 accounts atm and actually it's working quite well except for the halved framerate, which I managed to get back up to just over 30 inside the station by changing the shader setting to low, and chat windows etc. keeping there sizes but I guess I can resize them - so far so good.
I changed to windowed mode into 1024x768 resolution. My screen is still clearly too small (and low reso) to display both at the same time, so I need to switch them.
To Noob: Yes, you can do it and those 2 empty windows under your character portrait are the locations for your alts' portraits, which you're not using.
One more thing, would it be any better to run 2 separate clients instead?

Ok, if 2 clients would improve the performance over 2 instances of 1 then I consider downloading another one from Steam. I am currently using the original version but I can download one from Steam as well as I once added 30 days to my trial using it but have never actually downloaded the game.

I have been running 2 separate clients for a while now and can't see much difference to be honest. I'm taking some notes to compare with 2 instances of 1 at at later time though...

Yea, I have tried the linking of 2 accounts last night and it doesn't seem to make difference performance wise but it defo saves a lot of HDD space (5.3 GB!), which is important to me as well.

I've just got my notebook here and I haven't managed to burn out any graphics cards yet, though I have been overclocking it quite a lot. Obviously it's not a good idea to burn one out in notebook, so I try not to do it in future either
