tl;dr
1) Mining carebear 2) Mission carebear 3) 0.0 carebear 4) Trading mogul + PvP
I've been playing for nearly a year and a half now. I started out on a mining career as a proper noobie, I read halada's guide and envisioned an exciting career prospecting ores in dangerous territories. After a couple weeks of hacking at kernite to sell to mission runners (I did'nt know at the time, just that there was this one station with real good prices) I saw this was not as exciting as I'd hoped.
I had the skills for a Hulk, but not the money and I needed a diversion from the mining. I started missioning up to the point i had a T2 fit raven and a hurricane salvage boat and was bringing in decent amounts of ISK. I did mine on occasion, but mostly on corporation ops, missioning was much more exciting. things go boom and all.
After half a year or so I had a couple hundred million isk in the bank, along with several ships worth that much again. When missioning became too boring (a short time after them becoming super easy) I picked up exploration in low sec systems, here I learned to be careful and I made a decent living. One of the first days netted me a skillbook that sold for 230M isk or something, big money at the time.
My corp then moved to 0.0, where I did some 0.0 carebearing, mostly exploration again and a touch of ratting. While I did not make much more than in lowsec (more explorers in our region, so better sites but less of them) I did enjoy the POS living and 0.0 vigilance.
About a year after I started playing I had 800M ISK in the bank and about 600M isk in assets. Having worked hard for the small fortune (in my eyes) I did not want to risk it on expensive toys, but realized it was pretty worthless just sitting in the wallet as well. I decided I needed a trader alt to make more money for me, to the point that I could fly expensive toys with impunity and not care about losses.
I created a second account with the buddy invite, paid the 20 euros activation fee and got 51 days of playtime on it, along with another 30 on my main. I rolled up a trade alt and gave her 400M isk to work with. I promised myself that if at the end of the 51 days I had not made enough ISK for two PLEXes I would cease the second account.
Things turned out great, after about a month the trade character had good trading skills and with managing order just twice or thrice daily was bringing in enough cash to fuel both accounts with PLEX and then some. I then rolled up another character on the second account to go learn some PvP with in RvB.
So at the moment I have a pilot in 0.0 that can fly the good ships, a young alt having a blast in RvB and a trader juggling a couple billion ISK paying for both accounts and the goodies the pilots care to consume. I only see this getting better from now on :)
That's my story up until now, gotten quite long!
