ok I'll restart level 5 margin trading, at least we understand how it's supposed to work now :)
Cumulative means the same as how all the other skills work, and given how bad the descriptions were on the trade skills I ignored it as meaningless.
Compounded implies the wrong thing to me, I would describe it as: "Starting with an escrow percentage of 100% at Level 1, each skill level reduces the remaining percentage by 25%."
I dont know if anyone else feels thats clearer?

CCP (LeKjart): Would it be possible to include/display the amount left in Escrow for each individual Buy Order, somewhere in the Wallet

Thanks LeKjart for clearing that up
That sounds good to me Lacero - but should it not read something like Starting with an escrow percentage of 100%, it reduces to 75% at Level 1, then each skill level reduces the remaining percentage by 25%

Originally by: LeKjart The Margin Trading skill has a cumulative percentage decrease, meaning it reduces the escrow of the level below by 25%. If you have a better way to describe it, please tell me about it. Maybe it should be 'compounded' or 'multiplicative'? . . .
I believe the word you are looking for is "Exponential decrease." (What an interesting concept. )
0.75 to the power of X, where X is the current skill level, multiplied by the amount placed in escrow.
cumulative = additive math (that's x + y) multiplicative = multiplicative (that's x * y) compound = additive math (altho compound interest never looks very additive )
But between "cumulative" and "compounded" I'd go with the later
