Trying to probe down a wormhole but is stuck on 99.99% how do I get the last 0.01% or do bad skill prevent 100% ?

Have you got all 4 probes out and within the range of the signature? Try to build a regular pyramid around the signature, with 3 probes making an equilateral triangle slight below but surrounding the signature and 1 probe directly above it so the signature is within.
I have heard that some places are impossible to scan down without the skills for it, but I assumed that meant you might get to 70% tops on some, not 99.99%. And I'm almost entirely certain there wouldn't be such a restriction on wormholes as I've scanned down class 5's with almost no skills and no bonuses (ALMOST no skills/bonuses).

probing can be a bit tricky to learn as it is a very visual system. Lucky there is an official video tutorial on the CCP youtube channel. If you have not had a chance to watch it I'd highly recommend that you find some time to do so.

If you are at 99.99% and doing the exploration career agent then there is a chance that you just don't have your probes set up in the right places. These locations are very easy to find and as such will have a high % even if you are not doing it correctly. With these resources you should be able to find out where you are going wrong, if not, you can always contact me ingame or look for myself or another ISD in the help channels.

* Move the probes around a little bit
* Try a tetrahedron scan probe arrangement (3 in triangle below, 1 above in center of triangle)
* Use a T1 frigate bonused for scanning (Caldari Heron, Minmatar Probe, Gallente Imicus, Amarr Magnate)
* Use a T2 Covert Ops frigate (Covert Ops 3 > T1 with frigate level 5)
* Fit Gravity Capacitor rigs
* Use Sisters Core Probe
* Train Astrometric Pinpointing and Astrometric Rangefinding more
I've found sites that I could never get past 98% when I had low skills, but usually 99.9% is just a matter of moving probes a bit.

If you're at 99% a bit of probe repositioning closer to the source should give you 100%. But at some points you simply won't have the scan strength to probe out some sites no matter how cleverly you position your probes. I was getting unprobeable grav sites even in highsec before I stuck some scan strength boosting rigs on my Imicus.
