Edited by: Monda Hatake on 18/03/2010 01:46:56 ive been reading some of the posts on the time vs reword of traning your learnings, we all know that traning learnings is probaly the most important group you can do, but its also the most dull for new players. i like the new system we have giving double exp up to 1.6mil, but for a noob you want to start traning for that shiny new cruser or guns. my thought is that keep in place the 1.6 but once this time has pased your learning tree is still at double speed till say 2.6. all other trees go to norm speed at 1.6 but this extra time will let noobs train for basic skills get the feel of the game and wont be gimped once they hit 1.6 mil sp

I would say no. Eve is a think persons game and those that recognized early the importance of the learning skills deserve to be rewarded since they relized its better to hold off on that shinny new ship and spend a month on important skills.

Edited by: Ze Alts on 18/03/2010 05:56:11 how about instead of a 1.6m cap on a 100% bonus to one skill, you simply get to train skills as normal, and dual-train one learning skill at a time?
*edit, until 1.6m sp

No cookie for you. Again i go to my previous statement, no freebies to the impatient. Besides just wait till you try planing to fly big boy ships like caps and stuff, then your not worried about plans taking a month, but a year

Learning skills were a bad idea. CCP agrees with that. They just don't know what to do about it without ****ing those people off, who already trained them to level 5.
I think the best solution would be to make an announcement that they are going to remove learnings in two years (or so) from now. Then everyone can decide for themselves whether or not it still makes sense to train them or up to which level. Those that already have them, will keep them for that time, so they're not totally screwed by just having spend months on learnings only to have them removed the day after.
I have most learnings on 5 (except for charisma/empathy), so I too would be ****ed to see them vanish over night.

Begin OnActivate
Set SpeedBoostSPLimit to GetCurrentSP + GetSkillCategoryTotalSP Learning Set TrainingSpeedMulti to 2 Remove SkillCategory Learning ModAllAttributes 8
End
Begin GameMode
If GetCurrentSP >= SpeedBoostLimit Set TrainingSpeedMulti to 1 EndIf
End
(yeah, I've been indulging myself too much with Oblivion scripts recently ) --------
