An Apoc is a fine lvl 4 agent runner. I've been using:
4xmega beams, 2x heavy pulse, 2xsiege launchers 4xeucetics (won't pay 12mil for t2) 2x hardner for weak dmg (kinetic in case of gurista), 1x hardner secondary dmg 2xlarge accomo 2xcap relay
Seige launchers and drones to take care of the ceptors (who *always* orbit at >=7500 now, so no SB).
If you have Amarr BS 5, you could probably drop one cap relay in favor of dmg mod, webber, whatever, but if you don't, then you need 6 slots to keep the whole operation running for the very long battles you'll be facing.
So far, this setup has worked no problem solo, but there were two missions where I almost got into hull. The toughest by far was the 5x Conquist (1mil) and 15 elite frigs. Got down to 5% armor and thought I was dead for sure. But as the inty's started dropping, my repairer started to keep up.

Originally by: Derekian You actually switched battleships between the mission?
That needs a lot of time at least does it have a good reward?
It's faster than trying to kill something like a Pith Usurper with missiles (he tanks and fires defenders).
Only takes a couple of minutes with an insta-dock BM.
Besides, I like testing how many NPC battleships I can take on in a Blasterthron.

Update; Just had a mission where the last wave was six cruisers, four interceptors, and four 750k battleships (Guristas Destroyers).
Destroyers are pretty mean. Torp-spamming ravens = pain.
Anyway, my Apoc handled it ok, though 9 drones died for the cause.

Warp in @ 60, immidiatly warp out but remember to make a BM. Warp back in @ 60(To the BM ofc). The NPC's will now completly ignore you and you can snipe them to death one by one. Only the one you are shooting attacks you.
Bug or not? Dunno, but it works. And no, I have not reported it as a bug, because if it is a bug, I ain't getting payed to fix CCP's bugs.

It is very possible to do level 4 missions with only 2 characters. 1 character needs to be in a Gaurdian logistics cruiser and the other can be in an Apoc or Raven. The gaurdian needs to set up with all cap recharge and energy transfer. I am toying with the idea of Medium NOS aswell. I fly a Gaurdian in our level 4 missions and pump CAP to another Apoc. He never gets below 50% CAP when I have 1 large and 1 small energy transfer on him. I think that if I use a Medium Nos II on my friend (Apoc) then transfer that cap back with 2 large CAP tranfers it will be more help to him. Depending on if he gets more cap than I take from him. Once the frigates get with in range I can always change to one of them for CAP. I will do more testing of this as son as I can get back on.

Yeah, I've had that spawn twice. Got through it surprisingly easily... I was expecting to need to warp. It seems harder when there are more like a dozen cruisers and a stack of frigs (sabotage the supply lines latter spawns) than four cruisers, four battleships.
The hardest single ship I've encountered is the Mordus Fleet Commander, named segies launching kinetic cruise missiles (with cruise V cal BS 5) weren't enough to get through it's tanking capabilities, I needed to call in a corp mate. Next time it's torps though.

What drone loadout do people use? I find that the limited hold of the apoc (drone wise) is annoying me, and I go through med drones like crazy on lvl4 missions.
Any thoughts or better strategies for drone loadouts people use? I bascially just use what I find on my victims.
[ 2004.06.30 22:51:01 ] Your Mega Pulse Laser I places an excellent hit on Mordus Bounty Hunter, inflicting 11.9 damage. |

Doing lvl4 missions against serpentis is cake. They're easy to outrange, just bookmark a 60k warpin and then come into that bm at 40k. A sniperthron will rip apart everything with relative ease before they can even get into range to fire/scramble/web. -------------------------------------------- CONCORD: Kneecapping Pilots for Misdemeanors Since 2003 |
