I've been doing some L4s for ISK and have now amassed a bag of shiny loyalty points to spend. I was thinking of just buying something and then sticking it on the market/contract to turn my LP into ISK.
After a bit of poking around the store and comparing market/contract prices I worked out that per LP I could get about 1,000 ISK. So, say for 100K LP I could expect to get about 100Mil ISK out of it.
I'm not asking for anyone's secrets here but how does this stack up as a LP:ISK ratio (1:1000) ? Can I do better? Is this average? |

You can definitely do better with a bit of research.
I consider 1k ISK/LP my pain threshold – lower than that and I just won't bother. At 2k, it starts to get into "good" territory, and above 3k, it's time to spread disinformation so others don't do the same conversion…
The only (non)secret is that the more in a hurry you are, the less you'll get. Thing that sell in vast quantities over time might not give you that big "CHA CHING!" sound, but it does give you more money. Oh, and stay away from the obvious stuff (mainly ships and tanking modules) – you'll be hard pressed to push even above 500 ISK/LP on those at times. |

You ll be amazed how much efforts you need to spend to get at least 1:1000 in lets say caldari navy. Whenever i find the opportunity and place a sell order i get people who outbid me by 0.01 every 5 minutes. Its fkin ridiculous. Usually i just drop there price by 25% and get my 1:800 right nao.

1000 isk/LP is the base line and as said, if you want to offload a ton of LP fast, you will get less. This is for standard combat oriented npc corps like federation navy. Generally a faction BS gives 750 isk/LP but if you're running lvl5's solo it's a good option. Almost all other items give a better return, but you can't dump 600k LP every 24 hours with them. Ammo is always a good option regardless of faction and some of the more popular modules are good too. Things like weapon upgrades, EW, propulsion mods and so on sell well and give a good return. What is good will depend on your faction.
My own experience is the return you get is inversely proportional to how fast you sell it. Items that sell quickly have low returns, those you spend 2-3 weeks trying to get rid of can give much higher returns, but you did just spend a few weeks trying to get rid of it. |

Unfortunately there are always others that will sell stuff to cheap. So, no amount of research will get you the most isk you can. Pick something and sell it. It's that simple. |

I offer a service to give you the best lp/isk ratios for a specific corp for a small fee. If you need the isk quick, I also buy the items from you and sell them myself. Feel free to send me mail in game if you are interested.

For Services like this it would be great if ccp made it possible to sell / transfer lp directly to other pilots.

above 1000 per LP is a myth
just get your ammo or implants and sell to buy orders at Jita. You get about 500-800 per LP and instant isk in your wallet (no need spend a year train trading skills then another year modifying orders to get 1000 isk per LP).

What an obvious troll. Anyone with half a brain can find something in any of the stores that will get you at least 1000 LP/Isk. 1500 is fairly easy to do, but to go higher you'll probably have to do some homework, and train Production Efficiency to 5, which will take roughly 2 weeks. As for trading skills, they're not required, but they will help. AFAIK, to get the basics to 4 will take you another week or two, but you can still easily make a profit without them. They're really just comfort skills.

The easiest way to cash in LP is via implants or starbase charters. Clearly this won't get you a lot of isk per LP since competition is tough. Higher isk/LP rates are available from T2 ammo or faction modules, but the price you pay is longer turn-around times and more complex logistics. You have to decide what you think is worthwhile.

This is basically the truth. Allow me to clarify. The value of the LP itself has been much lower than 1000:1 since npc NEXUS CHIP buy orders stopped being seeded on the market. Without the npc enforced price in place, the inherent value of LP quickly dropped to around a 500:1 ratio.
When people believe they're getting an absurdly high ratio for their LP, they are wrong. What they fail to realize is that they are still getting a 500:1 ratio but they're ALSO GETTING extra ISK on the side from their trading, hauling, and/or manufacturing abilities. Most of the time they simply chose the right place to sell the right product.
I hope this point is not too nuanced for you mission monkeys to understand. |

Yes that would be very nice. For now it's totally workable for us to just tell our clients what to buy and then set up a contract.

This is why outside of my mission hub there's a can labelled as: "buying your LP for 1000 ISK".
That guy clearly buys LP for 1000 ISK and then invests it in a myth...

He means 1000+ for caldari navy LP. For minmatar, its more like 1500.

I think the better question here is 'why are you running missions for a corp that is known to have a terrible LP store and then whining about getting terrible returns on your LP?'
AFAIK, the only good reason to run missions for Caldari Navy is that you have a trader/reprocessor based in Jita and are grinding standings to minimise your broker fee and get a perfect refine. Otherwise, there are far better corps to run for, both in terms of LP store payouts and various other considerations.

1 LP <= 1000 ISK + the Costs for buying the stuff :)
Easy Example : Implant 1200 LP ... = 1,2 kISK + 10.000.000 for buying the stuff + taxes + agent taxes ...
But at all - most of the players are currently dreaming about prices. Hearing for L5 Implant Set about funny maximum 30.000.000 ISK over all. :)

1k per lp is very low, but depending on your mission corp it may be the best you can do. There are definately corps with items that can bring you over 2k per lp, just a matter of finding the right item/corp before others all do the same thing and cause a dive in the benefits. |

I've found that selling +5 implants yields about 1500 ISK/LP. And most importantly, it just requires hopping over to Jita where theres plenty of buy orders for 100,000,000+.

Cybernetic Subprocessor - Improved Jita buy price: 101m ISK required to purchase from LP store: 65m LP required: 65,000 ISK/LP: 553

I cannot speak for other factions but for Caldari 1:1000 is wonderful for combat corps. The average is around 750ish for CN CPF and the other combat corps. However you can get much better returns for other caldari corps.

Competing against RMTers is bad. Implants and CNRs are their bulk items and they can macro them so much that you'll never achieve viable sell prices. - Auditing & consulting
