Actually that must be pretty cool to be "allowed" to design stuff that is too exotic to sell in the real world.
Fashion designers push the same envelopes game devs do but in a completely different direction and method. If this gets out there and that community catches wind of it the competition for this job could unleash some incredible results.
This is also a chance for those in third party work or us rookies to get our names out there. Simular to how TF2 is doing things right now (player designers getting a shot to get their own items in game) i believe that if a player in this game was talented enough and had the proper equipment they could propose and get accepted a design line. I'm nowhere near the artist required yet to attempt this but i'm getting there.

Ah excellent. Another member of staff not in any way hired only for PR purposes to get CCP in the papers.
The economist Dr Ey.joG whos employment by CCP was happily trumpeted to any newspaper (both online and ink) or website that would listen, and whos "Quarterly economic Reports" were met with much enthusiasm by the eve population until they stoped being quarterly or even halfly or apon occasions not even yearly.
Faced with this fact, the "The first Quarterly Economic Newsletter" format was hilariously change to "The Fourth Quarter, Economic Newsletter for 2009". The emphasis moved from the impression it should come out 4 times a year, to instead specifying which quarter of the year it actualy got around to coming out.
He has, however, managed to find the time to be interviewed by various outlets (including the BBC) who found themselves a neat
"ITS A GAME... BUT ITS GOT AN ECONOMIST INNIT"
angle in a time of real world global economic crisis. This also enabled several side stories about how people think computer games are real/korean killed over a fantasy sword/boy dropped dead after 56 hour session/EBANK isk stolen worth 28k dollars/the usual.
Employing a fashion expert will perform a similar function
