Edited by: Marshall Jannsen on 21/03/2010 23:31:56 Anyone who's played EVE for very long has to get sick of the soundtrack. What other songs or types of music does everyone listen to while they're playing?
I've recently been listening to a lot of techno like Deadmau5 www.youtube.com/watch?v=kP_HbvxveoE (can't hyperlink it properly, so just C&P).
Also the Battlestar Galactica soundtrack goes very well with EVE, songs like Precipice or Violence and Variations.
So what kinds of songs do you like for EVE?

As you can tell, I'm a pretty dedicated metal head. \m/ -_- \m/

Same here I dont want to listen to stuff I need to pay too much attention to, just some background noise. I also tend towards happier stuff it makes it that much more poignent no matter the situation (you lost your expensive clone! hahaha tralalala hehehe ). -Jin Nib Trading on behalf of Opera Noir since: 2009.03.02 03:53:00

oh man, the list for me is just too long and varied to write down in its entirety. I'm pretty much uncaring about genre, and spend too much money on new music.
Give you an idea:
Metallica, Powerman 5000, Pendulum, Hybrid, Matrix & Futurebound, Laura Marling, Norah Jones, 30 Seconds to Mars, Hoobastank, Android Lust, Porcelain and the Tramps, Kidneythieves, Nine Inch Nails, Rammstein, Limp Bizkit, Mozart, Elgar, John Rutter, Karl Jenkins, Queens of the Stone Age, The Eagles, The Cranberries, Lenny Kravitz, Eric Clapton, Fleetwood Mac, Pink Floyd, Genesis, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Big & Rich, Deadmau5, Celldweller, KMFDM, The Offspring, Smash Mouth, Massive Attack, Mad Capsule Market, JunkieXL...
Hope you get the picture. I wish I could define what I like in a single pithy word. "Everything" doesn't quite fit because there's stuff like Lady Gaga that I just can't stand. - Verin "Stitcher" Hakatain. |

Depends on what I'm doing.
If I'm mining ... a lot of the time I listen to the TV. Just have to pay a little more attention if I'm doing that in a .8 or lower system. There - it helps to be attuned to that "Pew! ... Pew! ... Pew!" sound of weapons fire ... and be able to pick that out from the sound of your lasers. It's the musical cue that you need to stop watching TV and get back to your ships ...
What would be nice - would be a Contact Alarm. Something that would ring if another ship came into your space. But I guess CCP isn't designing their game around people watching television ...

I generally play music depending on the situation...if i'm lost in 0.0 with nothing but pirates for company I tend to play some reggae (Westbound Train/Tim Armstrong/Skatellites etc) simply because i'm feeling so happy that when I lose that 40mil implant it doesnt matter anymore.
Likewise when mining, I play HxC such as Zombie Apocalypse/Shai Hulud/Architects because it makes the mundane chore of eating rocks seem quite badass. I work freelance, if you need a ratter, hauler or miner in your high-sec operation, please feel free to contact me |
