Then you haven't seen much. I've seen them used and used them myself aplenty. Both in lowsec and 0.0. I have many interceptor kills with them. ----- 'In Eve, as in real life, if you are bored it's your own fault.' |

Thanks for all the input so far. To whoever asked about Logi's, yes, they count, although they are pretty useful imo.

I'd like to see that fit.... best i got so far was 157 with overheating, and that doesn't leave enough PG for a point

With a 7% RoF and a 5% damagemod implant, gives 181 DPS.

It makes the list a bit silly though to say logisitics are weak just because it's support. Especially the strongest one in fleet combat. If utility/support doesen't count I'll add every ship type there is except titans because on paper they do more damage.
So 1 vote on everything except titans.

I'd go with Command Ships (the combat ones that is).
For their training time, cost and supposed role they just plain out suck. A Tier2 BC or Tier1 BS outperforms them for less cost and less training time in most regards. :\
The only CS close to an exception from this statement would be the Sleipnir but I don't see a 'cane, phoon or Maelstrom being less useful in any chosen scenario and even the Cyclone is pretty similar for a fraction of the Sleips' price. ;_; Could be easily solved by introducing Tier2 Command Ships though and hope the price for Tier2 CS is the one of the current Tier1 CS after a few months while the Tier1s become cheaper (but it's more of a "tier system is horrible for BCs" issue anyways). :s
My second choice would have to be those T2 EW frigs. They're too vulnerable to get close and a Recon is much better sitting at range - for the EW stuff. I'd fly an AF, ceptor or T1 frig any day over those useless EW-failboats. :O

Go!
Marauders?! Expensive, but far from useless.
I would say that by and large t1 destroyers are the most useless ship type for pvp. They're ok against frigs, but they die horribly to anything else (and there's other things that do that job). The only place where it sees widespread pvp use is in suicide ganking, and even that is done better in torp ravens and tempests.

I would rank destroyers below industrials for PVP. Industrials make much better bait, have better fitting options (juicy midslots & cpu) and can hold a useful reservoir of cap booster charges. --- 34.4:1 mineral compression |

Destroyers (especially the arty thrasher) are excellent for empire wardec ***gotry. Fast locking, high alpha, kills frigs and pods with brutal efficiency. It's a niche role but don't be so quick to disregard them.
My vote goes to marauders. You'd be insane to fly one of those in legit pvp.

I guess people are assuming ISK is a big factor ?
Because an AC Vargur is pretty fearsome if you dont use Ewar against it.

You can pry my EAFs from my cold, dead hands. I fly a kitsune in small gangs and I absolutely love it. My gang does, too. Sentinel can be a nasty surprise to certain targets. Hyena and Keres I'm not too hot on, though.
They could use a boost - I would like smaller signature radius and lower cost - but other than that they're great in fast moving gangs.
Most useless? I would have to go with Industrials. Even a Marauder has more utility in a fight than an industrial via drones. Just 5 drones randomly attacking things while you're jammed to hell and back is more useful than a BattleBadger in a fight.
I want to go on an Industrial roam now, though...

Yea, that¦s the case. I¦d like to take a Vargur out for a pvp spin, but it would realy hurt the wallet.
Also Trasher is fearsome if you dont shoot at it.

Marauders. It takes almost nothing to permajam, and it's tank/DPS isn't sufficient to warrant flying a 1 billion isk ship when you can fit a T1 bs for 20% of that and get the same result. Oh, and the T1 is insurable.
Also, factor in the "OMG! IT'S AN UNDOCKED MARAUDER!!!11!" effect that marauders have. I've seen warring corps drop what they are doing and gang up on an unlucky marauder pilot just for the KM.

CCP nerfing damps and the fact it cannot fit a covops cloak make it pretty lame at it's intended role. Yeah, it has 7 mids so a shield tank is an option but for an ECM boat it sucks donkey balls.

guess you didnt watch the alliance tourny, hand full of destroyers in that and the sabers tore **** up. also thrashers can get a suprising amount of dps with cheap fittings so id not ignore them, however it is true i dont see them used so much for pvp, when you do though, small gangs can make your day bad.
as an answer to the op, when you say "for pvp" do you mean the ship has to be fighting? or can it be in a pvp support role, cause the worst pvp ship is a logistics, wonderful for what they actually are meant to do, but as a combat ship?
if logistics dont count, my vote goes to EAFs
Saw a anti-frig scim once, seemed to be handling its self quite well. I engaged, and was very surprised when it shot back. luckily i wasn't one on the ships that it poped. heard some one on coms going on about how the speed or something made it a good anti-firig ship.
To op: Cov ops. yeah a scout, but so is the SB and the SB can kill something.

Good luck fitting an expanded launcher and torps on a SB. By the way, this is my signature.

Oops, probing. +1 for you even though you could use a t1 frig for that i'm sure. I just shoot stuff, what do I know!
