Edited by: Demeck on 06/06/2010 10:36:14 ok here is my post in another thread.
Yep same issues here, happened last night in the middle of a lvl 5. cost me both ships at 800mill. some bckgrd(bear with me) forgive me if i waffle
ive had this problem for i would say the last yr or so. I have also had 3 different computers all with the same issues.
ive reinstalled windows and eve (nothing else)to chk for conflicts or something i just couldnt see. ive chked memory, hardrives, stress tested cards on all 3 computers ,ive tried logging the culprit with the bootstrap but doesnt seem to help alot cause after all it requires hard reset (not with foot this time though).
basically issue has remained with me over 3 completly different computers , i have bought new parts and basically changed the whole computer 3 times so its not hardware,
i also play aoc among other games and dont have this issue. it appears to be totally eve related. ccp have been no help what so ever even after countless petitions regarding this matter. mainly this seems to happen when i warp to station 4 in jita or undock from there, or running lvl 5 missions.
everythings fine then sound begins skipping, monitor goes black and then into standby as it has no signal(suggests gfx) cold reset required.
now yesterday i sat on sisi with 2 accounts running in a lvl 5 mission, i had the graphics on fairly high settings and zoomed the camera in to both accounts,so ships took up whole screen to maximize all turret and missle explosions., gfx card was running pretty hot at 96 - 101oc, but cards are designed to run at these speeds apparently. and it ran for about an hr at this temp fine.
so then i started playing with settings. removing bloom reducing texture deatils and so on, everything was doing fine till i changed the shadow quality. as soon as i did this the monitor switched off into standby, last sound began skipping and i had to cold reset the computer.
so my question is, is there any chance that this memory leak which cause the game to freeze for a few secs every now and now could interfere with the way the graphics are being displyed, as in shadows not rendering properly for them seconds the game is frozen, and when it unfreezes the gfx card tries its best to render everything on screen to catch up but causes it to crash under the load?
im not computer tech but ive been pc owner for 10yrs and every problem i have had during these yrs i have solved myself so i know a little about them..not much but a little:D
temperature spikes on the graphic card happen when game freezes and unfreezes aswell ive noticed.. just a thought log file not really an option as its always cold reset..also i do have atleast 1 account drop on a regular basis , just random as to which one it will be.
