I am brand new to this game so i am still formulating ideas but i believe that there is an elite class at the top made up of traders who are a head above everyone else.
My questions are
1. You can export market data for an item into a file, but you can you export price history as a table. I say this as if i could place historical data into an excell file or even better into SPSS then i could run all sorts of multivariate predictive and trend analsis functions.
Many thanks for your answers

The richest people in EVE are the ones that have the biggest smile on their face while they play this game.

Yeah, the richest people TEND to be traders, but not all of them. Big smiles is the best indicator as Umega said
Dunno about exporting them AS tables.

I like the market side of the game and making ISK makes me smile. I'm up to 500m per day and hope to grow it to 600+ by next month. current NAV is only about 25b as I started trading a couple of months ago with 100m in my pocket but it's growing fast.

Edited by: LarcatOfRens on 22/03/2010 17:32:29 My guess would be:
1) Cap-ship veld miners.
2) Game-room operators.
3) Long term large alliance/corp CEOs.
In that order.

Okay, probably more like this:
1) Illuminati
2) Titan Veld miners
3) A certain renown thief,
4) Major alliance leaders in the top two alliances

The richest people are the people controlling the ISK flow of the large alliances, no sole individual can compete with the combined effort of thousands.
Traders just tend to flash their wallet size for epeen here in MD.

the question is also - by ISK on account or by net value ? I know a few people with large inventory and orders. But few making money by trading have the raw ISK on accounts (dead money)

If you go by either method, the alliance executors are mainly the top, if you ignore assets, some traders.

Insightful answer guys. I was very curious about the question OP had too.
Traders individually with the highest net worth and CEO (executors) controlling more assets, yet has a small personal claim on them (but with full access). It's an exact mirror of the real world.

thanks Breaker I was going to let it slide.
My alt for the bond linked by Breaker is making 140m/day just station trading in a smaller hub. My real trader is Jita trading at around 350m/day. Check again in a week when my new bond goes up and my new NAV is posted. do the math yourself. I'm at 21b NAV right now. It's easy work. Just jump online a bunch of times a day and update orders. Takes 15 minutes. Most the time I'm on the forums or watching a movie. (the 25b posted above was projected at the end of my current bond in a weeks time, sorry)
of course this will probable not be proof to you. so....

This really is the best answer in this thread. Wealth is only relative to the amount of fun it allows you to have.

Just find something your interested in doing within Eve, hopefully it will involve making Isk.
Just remember, if your looking to make the "elite member" list of people who's net worth is 10 Trillion+ , your looking at a time line of 3-4 years invested, with an average of 25-40 hrs per week game time. Lots of luck and good timing play a huge factor
