Just reactivated after quite some time and wanted to know if there is still demand for freighter pilots? Thinking about firing up the business again.

There is. Reprocess it and sell the minerals. It will be the best decision you've ever made.

I don't know what kind of money they make, but they seem to enjoy themselves.

A lot of our business comes from clients *not* involved in insurance fraud. There may be an affect, but not a major as you may think.

OP wants to move things himself - I'd suggest joining RF. He can then help with the occasional batch of 20 contracts I toss in their direction. --- 34.4:1 mineral compression |

Red Frog is king in this area!
My endorsement has absolutely nothing to do with the PLEX they gave me for posting their 5000th contract. Nothing at all.

Well, it was either that or 'fairly frequent but irregular'. Let me know when my contracts pass the 1k mark please --- 34.4:1 mineral compression |

Expect to earn 6m/hour, or 3m/hour if you do it afk.
In other words, lvl 4 missions are more profitable, but it can be fun to do other things.

I do afk hauling each day with my 5 freighters while I am at work and while I sleep. I make a lot more than 3m/hour from each one, but then again a lot of that comes from the choice of things to haul rather than the hauling itself. Hauling for other people is fine for no-brain income but hauling for yourself has more potential.
Also, a snaked-up Fenrir afk hauls at 156m/s and for non-afk runs LG Nomad implants allow un-webbed align/warp times that are very tolerable (something like 20 seconds from a station, when you actually have to align and less from a gate where you just have to get up to speed). Obviously I didn't buy those implants for that purpose, but when I have them in a jumpclone just gathering dust the temptation was too great to resist. When you really want to get it there fast though, it's webbing alt all the way.

First, I would like to welcome Victor to Red Frog. Thanks to the wonderful comments of previous posters, we didn't have to work very hard to convince him to join!
Second, while Red Frog does not release individual pilot earnings information, I can say that Scout's estimate is well under my personal averages. I should stress the word 'average' in this context, because Red Frog is a freight services provider and pilots will occasionally have to trek out to the middle of nowhere for a series of pickups.
We advise our pilots to make the most of their freighters by combining trading and other ISK-generating ventures with their courier runs. For some pilots, the courier runs serve primarily to fill the dead legs of their personal trips. For our ATK pilots, the courier runs make up a more significant portion of their income, because an ATK run takes roughly half the time of an AFK run.
When I first started with Red Frog, I turned approx 900 million in initial collateral into approx 3 billion profit in about a month. I had to grind it out and make every jump ATK with a full hold, but you can certainly make a lot of ISK if you're willing to work hard and work smart.
edit: added word profit |

When i was in Red Frog i did very well, but thats the time when there were fewer pilots. There are lots of opportunity's for a young pilot in RF to learn many things.
