Inquiring minds what to know. Who are the Contemporary Pirate lords of EVE. Who are you and what region do you reign from. I am sure I will have to settle for second hand stories and I will take them but in the end I want some kind of list. I am looking for role models with charisma and style that are exclusively Pirates!
I will push forward two of my favs. and simply the most fascinating personalities In the game I am aware of.
1) Mynxee the charismatic founder of Hellcats and her amazing blog "Life In Low Sec"
2) Masu'di the mysterious Drug Lord who reigns from "ES and Whizz" and head of Hedonistic Imperative Cartel. Engineer of the largest drug shipment ever smuggled into Jita. (Its an amazing video!)
3) Spectre! For all the right reasons.

lots of forum posts doesnt equal in game excellence. Often the best are fairly quiet and in the shadows.
Then again, if you're going for the romantic image of a "pirate", flashy loud braggart, then perhaps you'll find them here.

I think it depends on the definition of your pirate lord. I would define pirate lords as the largest pirate force devoted to true piracy, genos is not in that definition. True pirates prey on lowsec as outlaws. El'tar won't claim this either, and garmon is dead. Amamake is the true pirate haven. Imo those that reign in there are the true pirate lords. Not those that flee the area from said pirates, so count python out.

Shame, they used to be pretty gd. Just fyi, GENOS technically isn't pirate now being in Severance. Other than that, no other pirates have really grabbed my attention. Yawn, big up psyco!

Pirates have several categories. Fear, effectiveness, reputation.
Fear - Lets face it. Noone is feared as much as I am. I cant pay people to fight me, even though I've tried. I used to be in the top 10 all time in kills, now 150, strickly because Im one of the only guys that make a 30 man gate camp run for the hills before they even know what ship im in.
Effectiveness - My vote goes to Le Skunk, even though he and his gang have run from me 8P, they still kill a ton of ****.
Reputation - BYDI, simply the best and most well known pirates in eve. Go Ugluuk and company.

It has been brought to my attention that the term "hermit bandit" is ambigious.
To clarify, I am not a bandit who preys on hermits. That would be ridiculous. I am more a hermit who bandits - or a banditry hermit..... though if another hermit comes through I will indeed bandit him.

Thanks for clarifying this but it still raises some questions. If I understand it correctly, you deem yourself a 'hermit-bandit' in the sense of a 'warrior-monk' being a 'warrior' who occasionally 'monks' as a side profession. Or the 'soldier-poet' who dabbles in writing rhymes inbetween bloody battles. So can I conclude that 'hermitting' is your main occupation and the banditry is considered more of a side job which you are able to get tax cuts on? And if, by any chance, your income as a bandit would exceed that of your hermitting revenues, wouldn't you have to name yourself a "bandit-hermit" instead?

from all the corps though you had to chose these two, either you don't know others, or something got stuck there.
There is no pirate lord, and tbh, at this stage I am thinking that too many people are mixing up RL leend with EVE, play the game how you want and don't worry about the others, and if you do, make sure you call them primary

Fear - Lets face it. Noone is feared as much as I am. I cant pay people to fight me, even though I've tried. I used to be in the top 10 all time in kills, now 150, strickly because Im one of the only guys that make a 30 man gate camp run for the hills before they even know what ship im in.

I was the Lizard King, but had to resign, unexpectedly. (She told me she was 18!)
I thought of running for U.S. President, but I was disqualified for understanding fiscal responsibility in light of the People preferring Socialism this time around. So they elected Obama.
The world thought of giving me another nation to run, but since I was too qualified to run the U.S., I was way too qualified to run any other country.
Hillary has more testosterone than I do, so she keeps Secretary of State.
I'm not nauseating enough to replace Nancy Pelosi.
The Big Kahuna sounded too 'gimmicky'.
All being Master of Time, Space and Dimension was taken by Steve Martin. (But he's leaving it to me in his will.)
Lord of the Dance was taken by some douchebag names El'Tar.
The Last Airbender hasn't been released yet.
Elvis gets to hold onto King of Rock 'n Roll.
RUN-DMC are still arguing over who's the real King of Rock. (without the 'n Roll)
MJ was King of Pop, but who wants to follow him? (Plus midwesterners will think I'm actually King of Soda if I claim that.)

but yea I'd vote for Mr Wildcat as someone with a huge stage presense, Helicity for Hulkageddon, Villwrath for Lord of the LowSec hotdroppings (although still just a small fish when getting in with the 0.0 boys, Proof), and Skunk despite his objections to being called a pirate and therefore must be named a hermit bandit.
