I'm 26 and agree with the OP, it's the complexity of the game that drew me in after I took a serious look at it (I knew of EVE peripherally for years). The depth and freedom of play have kept me subscribing even if I duck out to play something else for a little while. Despite its flaws, the game has an extremely long term appeal and requires a certain level of patience that I think a lot of younger gamers haven't found yet. I can't wait to see what the next generation of sandbox MMO looks like, be it some fully-evolved version of EVE+DUST or something else.

I'm 33, but I still regularly get mistaken for a teenager (in real life, that is). Not sure if that's a good or a bad thing. ----- 'In Eve, as in real life, if you are bored it's your own fault.' |

Edited by: Dr Fighter on 25/03/2010 16:44:45 started eve at 18, im 27 now, no signs of stopped yet.
tryed other games, got instantaneously hacked off with silly chat/vent and poor group play.
eve is for the (generally) smarter, older more mature gamer.
it does make for some classic rude smack on occasion too, rather than the "your a poopy face" you might see on wow or whatever.
In an eve meet holiday to America i met some nice guys, one a decent player with alot of ingame sway, some 60 years of age and going strong! He had the best storys too

Personally I would find it more interesting to ask the youngest age group, and see if there are any decent amount of people less then 18.
Then again, I am just a kid playing internet spaceships, what do I know?

Excuse me?
The vast majority of people I know are middle aged, I'm one of the youngest members in my corporation and I'm 20. Where exactly do you pull those numbers from?

I consider myself to be quite a young player (just turned 17), judging from what I've seen during my time here.

I've met quite a few older players so far, men and women with ages ranging from 40-70.
I'm 25 myself. Eve has a way of weeding out the younger crowd, it seems.

From being a member many different 0.0 corps. Im not saying every corp is. But the majority of them are. probably most of the long term successful ones have older average ages.
