Would like it so that we get progessively better as the skill trains; not one lump sum bonus at the end. I think this would really help with those 50+ day level 5 skills. So for example, Marauder level 5 on a Paladin means an extra 5% damage as one of the bonuses. Would be better if I knew that after 10 days, I would get a 1% increase, after 20 days a further 1% etc.
I think with so many long skills in EVE, it can be a real pain when you see that 30, 40 or 50 days for training, knowing that there is nothing for you until you get there. Would be nice to receive little incentives along the way :) |

Thats the whole point of higher skill multipliers and exponentially lower returns to investment. ------------------------------------- The system issues man. |

This should be in F&I...
I agree that is can be a pita, but I see it as more rewarding patience than anything else. Another thing is that it would complicate skills even further because, assuming this will be for all skill levels, you'll quintuple the number of skill levels there are on the database so new players will have to worry about needing, say, electronics at 4.2 to be able to fit a ship, rather than the very simple five levels we ave now

Wouldn't this create more load for the server?
Also, it means you've got less responsibility with using time to gain reward or something like that in English. ------

Were you complaining when WTZ was introduced too?

CCP doesn't like arithmetic progression.

I would not be opposed to smaller subdivisions of skills given that they still had the same total skillpoints and an exponential curve. It would provide for more tiny little happy moments that you get when you complete a skill.

We can divide higher skill ranks into serveral grades. Each steps are still larger then each other. You still need to break through into next levels to unlock skills/modules just like now, but the inbetween grades provide half bonus of the next. Would encourage people to log in and play the game twice as often ;p
For example: Lvl 1 - 250 Lvl 1 EX - 750 Lvl 2 - 1414 Lvl 2 EX - 4242 Lvl 3 - 8000 Lvl 3 EX - 24000 Lvl 4 - 45255 Lvl 4 EX - 135765 level 5 - 256000

First i started playing in May 2007 (it was Revelation) so probably i didn't know about EVE at that time.
But Actually if change doesn't really change anything it isn't that bad.
For example: Warp to Zero = Make a bookmark 0m at gate and then warp to it every time. Or the other idea somewhere here: plastic wrap to transport assembled ships in cargo of freighter = make a courier contract with assembled ship in it (costs only 10k ISK) transport it inside a freighter...
If idea could be done by some means already it isn't bad to simplify it a bit. But what he is propossing can't be done already... That is the difference. ------------------------------------------------- I am envoy from nowhere in nowhere. Nobody and nothing have sent me. And though it is impossible I exist ¬ Trimutius |
