If you're talking performance compared to the amount of isk/sp to fly them then all field command ships are lack luster, but yes in general you will get better performance out of an Abso. |

If you had to rank the field command ships in order of best to worst. The Astarte would come in 9th.

Slepnir, Harbinger, Hurricane, Brutix, Absolution, Astarte, Drake, Nighthawk and the rest I really dont see any one using.
Realisticly, the only command ship worth flying over its battlecruiser counterpart is the Slepnir. The rest of the command ships are only slightly better then there battlecruiser counterparts. Go cost effective and just fly battlecruisers.

I'm not exactly sure who force-fed you this information, but after the stealth buff of laser weapons from last year or so, Abso has been by far best CS for for pvp for a while. I'd take on a slep anyday in my abso.
Also, the massive jump in effectiveness from t1 to t2 in the CS world is astounding. If you want to talk about cost effective with BC's, your talking about cost effectiveness of T1 BC's vs HACs.
Your list should correctly read:
Abso -> Slep -> Nighthawk -> Astarte -> Prophecy -> Brutix -> Drake -> Harby -> Cane -> Ferox -> Myrm (before drone nerf, I would have rated this above nighthawk).
Of course this is all subjective 1 v 1 with standard cookie cutter fits. Overall, they are all very niche in their rolls and if used outside performance will vary.

Clearly you haven't been playing that long and don't understand pvp mechanics. You seem the type that probably fits the cookie cutter setup, or some mandatory fleet fitting which you swear by.
Rohk's are a sniping ship, not a RR. They also work well as disco ships.
Ravens are shield buffered torp tossers, for pvp, all they need to be. They are fine using 2x TP's.
Scorps do just fine with armor tanking RR.
Missiles do just fine in combat especially when used correctly. There's no problem with them, only in how you use them obviously.
Nothing is wrong with a cerb or an eagle. I'd love to know what the problem with them is, oh wait, let me guess, cookie cutter setups huh?
Protip: I don't use EFT, no point in being an EFT warrior either. Difference between a paper setup and a tried and tested setup, but you would know that wouldn't you?
I'm guessing you used to be apart of Hydra if your main is old enough to be that old. Either that or some empire based joke of a corporation?

so like I said, ur cal bs's aren't wanted in a rr gang , ravens have niche roles pos/dread bashing, , missiles aren't wanted in fleet, and I never said that anything was wrong with the cer/eagle, it's just that any other hac is prefered over them (anyone denying this never flown a hac in pvp). So everything u said proves me right and u a pve nooby.
And tell me why would u bring a scorp to a rr gang when a falcon/rook can warp 50km off and not need rr? And why is ur scorp even in range of getting rr'd? It shouldn't be in range dum dum. Ur like sub-par eft warrior, at least they know about ship stats

Try posting something sensical, you can't even troll right. You're providing heresay and clearly can't read as I stated I don't EFT.
Your lack of ability co coherently write posts and actually caring about what your writing is making things difficult to understand coupled with your lack of spelling....soo...
Why must I fit ecm on a scorp? I'm assuming that's what you think should always be fit. Because there are bonuses for ecm? Why do Ravens only exist in pos bashing? Missiles may not be wanted in your fleet, but your fleet apparently sucks to begin with.
I used to fly a cloaking armor tanked torp raven and did more than well with it, and lost very few. 200 vs 5 you will usually end up losing one every once in a while.
Nonetheless you are entitled to your lol fleet fits and your blind inside the box thinking. Good luck with that, I'm sure you do quite well with your small gang warfare vs blobs and blob on blobs. I'll continue to feed off idiots like yourself not paying attention to intel channels and funding my wallet.

I can't read your regular posts let alone have the effort to read your edits.
Yes, I used to use an armor torp raven meaning in the past tense. Before you found eve online, armor torp ravens were quite lethal. I'm not sacrificing "dps/roles" to be different, I'm sacrificing them to fit A particular role. Since I've flown them, many patches, nerfs, and more nerfs have made the raven nothing more than a shield buffered torp tosser, as I stated posts ago.
I also never said that the fits that those that I fly with (who have all been in the game since 2003/2004 unlike your expert few months) are absolutes. I was merely disproving your "caldari sux period" logic and pointing out that there are other viable solutions. If you like it or not, again, that's your opinion. Do they work? Yes.

back in the day, armor tanked torp ravens with RR in the highs and sensor damps/tackle in the mids where quite lethal in a gang of 5-10.
They could take out a gang 3x their size without any losses.
Now with torp range being 1/3rd what it used to be, sensor damps suck completely, and there are nuets on everything instead of just NOS... that tactic doesn't work so well anymore. Oh no you don't! Incoming witty reply, ETA: 300 seconds! |

Confirming that the Drake is indeed terribad for PvP and ranks near the bottom for BC hulls. Definitely worse than the Brutix and Proph. I know, cuz EFT forum warriors told me so....
In related news, until the blaster issues (tracking after web nerf, poor dmg/range ratio compared to lasers, etc) are fixed the Absolution is absolutely better than an Astarte.

lasers will shorten my CAP to 5 minutes of work. If' I'll survive 5 minutes I can always turn it off and continue using my ECM's only.
Cruises are taking to long to hit target even 200 DPS more allow me to focus on ECM's AND same time shoot primary.
Sounds like not only are you in a fail corp/alliance (again), but you don't know how to fly. Perhaps you should take your own advice and go do something useful, like learning how not to fail?
Also, your opinion about the abso not being cost effective vs the prophecy, is delusional to say the least. Perhaps you should add value like, sending your accounts to the trash bin. Would save a lot of people from having to embarrass you, not like you need the help.

COST EFFECTIVE IS RELATIVE. WHAT I FIND COST EFFECTIVE YOU MAY NOT.
FOR SOME PAYING 120M EXTRA FOR 40% EXTRA TANK IS A GOOD RETURN.
Also its more cost effective to fight a myrm in your abso and win than to fight it in your harb and loose.
Also, drakes arent amazing solopwnmobiles, and I dont think their underestimated anymore. Their dps is still **** tho, get over it. ******** SIG :O ******** |

Really? Prophecy is the best T1 battlecruiser? Better than the Drake, Harbinger, and Cane?
That's a really unusual position; I'd like to hear your justifications for that if you could.
Imo, Absolution -> Sleipnir -> Nighthawk -> Drake -> Harbinger -> Hurricane -> Astarte -> Myrm -> Brutix -> Cyclone -> Ferox -> Prophecy
TBH putting the abso above the sleip is as bizarre as putting the proph at the top of the tech I BC list.
Actually now that I see the harb listed above the cane I'm guessing it's that you fly amarr and not minmatar, or that you've had some really bad luck flying minni. Though the harb/cane issue is one that's very much open for debate, the sleip vs abso goes to the sleip, period.
Sleip has variable damage, more of it, an awesome tank, and much, much more range than the abso (keep in mind an abso with scorch completely stops doing damage at about 30k, and a sleip with 425s and barrage will be doing more than half its damage at that range) Plus for small gangs (where field CSs shine, along with some solo work) an active shield tank will serve you better than a passive (or active for that matter) armor tank.
Oh and did I mention that ACs track better as well? |

I actually fly both Amarr and Minmatar primarily (I can fly everything but I do Amarr/Minnie way more). But my experience with the Abso and Sleip is almost completely from Sisi and I don't like command ships anyway.
And no, the difference in quality between the Absolution and the Sleipnir is MUCH, MUCH smaller than the difference between the Prophecy and the Harbinger or Drake.
Intelligent people can disagree over whether the Abso or Sleip is superior in general (a meaningless argument anyway), but I still can't see any reason to put the Prophecy over every other Battlecruiser, which is the main reason I posted in the first place ________________
