So you picked two not so great PvP fits (afterburner on a blasterboat ), compared them and concluded that the Proteus sucks.
When comparing buffer tanks, the story is a bit different. Their max speeds aren't too far apart, even if the Proteus has a 1600mm plate and armor rigs and their EHP is about the same (90k or so). Where Proteus gets an advantage is DPS. It can dish out about 900 DPS whereas Tengu only reaches 600-700. Add in some implants and Proteus wins in the EHP department as well (130k with Slaves vs Tengu's 100k with a shield HP implant). Having a drone bay isn't bad either.

I wish my legion got a 100% damage bonus, 6-7 slot tank, and 3-4 damage mods like the tengu =(.
I only get 50% damage bonus, 4-6 slot tank and only 0-2 damage mods. Oh no you don't! Incoming witty reply, ETA: 300 seconds! |

Um how is a Proteus fit that doesn't use the Power Core Multiplier considered a gank fit?
Also AB on a blasterboat?
As has been said already - step away from EFT.

try that for the proteus, tho its my belief that the 1600m plate buffer version is going to be better in gangs larger than ~3 players.
EDIT: stats are 850/1050 tanked, 800/900 delt (standard/heat).

Should be using Terror not Torrent... an easy mistake, but will put your dps up to around 900 :)

Don't forget how far those heavy missiles go while you're stuck with an 11 km optimal.

Yeah, There really isn't anything wrong with the Tengu's ability to do 600-700 dps at 110km while everyone else has to be within 5-15km to do that. Oh no you don't! Incoming witty reply, ETA: 300 seconds! |

As usual Simov is right about the TEngu and if you use Kin Missles you will get 850-900 DPS at 22km
Kessah were you the one with all the Videos If im not mistaken...Well I saw you liked the Active fits with the Domi ETC....You Will PWN ALL in a Tengu like that not only will the 850 DPS melt almost anything, But If you Swapp to HML`s you get 15-20% Less DPS but you get 5x the Range and Gangs will Chase you down trying to get a Tengu kill, all the while you are Killing them as you run and then stand your ground and point them.
So basically head out like you are scared Attack your Target and when hes at 50% Tank turn Point him Kill him, and act like you are running again, then rinse and repeat. By the time they know what has happened you will have 4-5 Kills and can either Leave or wait for there Gang to Really test that tank of yours
Anyways the really amazing thing about that 5k Tank is not only the DPS/Range, but the fact that 5k Tank turns to triple that when you consider you are a cruiser size and BS`s have real hard times hitting you. Also most active Tanked ships have a Few k Ehp buffers where as yours is almost 60k as much as a buffer fit Cane LOl and a 5k DPS tank. Since you are so agile You can MWD under there guns then orbit, and with the Nano Fiber Sub you have 3.2 sec align time and one hell of a orbit speed.
And from watching your Flicks you love Overheating and none do it better than T3`s they are just rediculous when they overheat.
I hope you do make another video with this ship and you show how insane it is...I never understood how you pulled some of those stunts off, I think this would give you double what you ad before, but just remember speed is life, they cant hit what they cant track.

HAY THAT LOOKS FAMILIER
though I switched to Accelerated Ejection Bay to get more DPS vs bigger ships, and always used an AB over an MWD (because I was mostly just jumping into pirate camps which meant I'd be scrambled all the time anyway).. actually I'm trying something better than both ATM, and getting some really nice results
But yes, Pithum A-type Booster, CDOS rigs, Crystal Set and blue-pill will make the Tengu tank silly amounts of damage for virtually no cap, just stay away from Curses and NeutDomis

Just post the setup next time Rawr, I wont need to reverse engineer it. It is a most intriguing setup I will hand that to you.

Ahahahahahahahahahahaaaaaaaaaaaaa. Ahem. Ha! Troll?
That Proteus fit is a total joke. 450 tank, a massive explosive hole (not omni, like you claim) and 600 dps - nice work there, you basically achieved what a battlecruiser could do.
Also, afterburner and blasters? Yeah, good luck with that one!
The best Proteus fit I have seen has a 300k buffer tank (without implants, probably nearly 400k with full slave) and over 500dps.
Other points of failure: - Your Tengu is not omni-tanked - T1 rigs on T3 cruiser is fail

You'd have a point if it weren't for the fact that the Proteus looks Better in EFT while the Tengu looks Worse. EFT's numbers don't talk about the fact that the Proteus's optimal is so small it's perpetually fighting in its falloff, nor does the damage value give appropriate weight to the fact that the Tengu's got a 50+ km range on its missiles.
EFT can make the Tengu look marginally better. Practical experience makes the gap MUCH wider.

if you don't use the 6th turret/launcher slots, then t3s pretty much lose their purpose... also unplated proteus will die just as fast as un-buffered tengu.. active rep in pvp is useless unless you are in a bs or bc, there will always be a ship with a neut on and you will die like a frigate... lose the active tank, get buffer on and equip the sixth gun.

you'd be right if you meant T2, but this isn't T2. T2 can't make a Tengu boost from 0-100% shields in the space of 10 seconds using the cap from a single Cap 400.
That said, Neuting WILL hurt any active-tanked ship, as a rule I won't engage a blob if they have a Curse with them, but should one happen to show up in a fight I'll still be able to function somewhat for as long as my boosters last. If they don't have neuts at all then they're really screwed, 'cause they're taking on a cruiser-sized ship with the tank of a Carrier.
