agreed, thou you have to have a certain mindset for wormhole pvp. Theres always a chance whoever your going to attack has got some mates cloaked up and is going to be your own blood bath. Got to love no local.

Seriously, instead of quitting, I just bought a year's worth of PLEXes.

Level 4 missions
I can load up and play for an hour here and there and make enough money to support me going out and pew pew and lose in PVP. *still waiting for that first solo PVP kill. lol*
They nerf lvl 4 payouts then there is no reason for me to stay.

pretty much all of this, but mostly the bolded bit
almost every major MMO out there uses that same tired and stupid level system that honestly has no place these days. The whole "I'm level 50, you're level 35 so you have 0 chance in PvP and I can't use you in PvE either" does nothing but force people to grind to the level cap before they can actually start enjoying the game, only to find when they get there that there's nothing to do anymore, and stop playing.
and that's why I keep coming back to EVE.

I've been a proponent of turning mining into a mini-game, with how well you do tied into your cycle yield. Of course you don't have to play it... but AFK mining is gonna take *forever* to fill your hold...

I had a thought the other day - what if instead of 'lock roid, start miners, go afk', the 'game' becomes 'get survey scanner, mine rock for x% of cycle, get next rock, repeat', the idea being that the majority of rocks out there wont last more than one or two cycles, and requiring the player to think a little bit about how long they need to spend with one miner on the rock..
Of course, 'afk' (read:macro) miners would either a) get awesome at this 'game', or b), ignore it and take the hit to yield

If it wasn't for: -cool wingmates that I actually get to know- -free expansions, instead of stupid EA expansions that break the non-expansion players game experience (did this happen in WoW?)- -the relatively even playing field (as opposed to the Level system, grinding, etc) where even isk-buyers will get their faction-fitted officer-modded rear-ends handed to them- -Freespace 3 not coming out, or any other space opera joystick shooter-
I would have quit eve long ago
