Insurance payout for ship losses resulting from Concord kills.
What is your stance on this much discussed insurance related issue?
Our stance is that this should get a further nerf some day outside of the initial relative reduction in Tech 1 ship payout which will occur after Tyrannis. However it should be noted this will not stop 'suicide ganking' since it is up to the player how much they can afford to lose in this way. It will cost more but if they can still afford it then it will still happen.

But will there be more carebear tears than those from your master, Bellum?
Jeez, you have a serious hard-on for Bellum.

No more BS that pay for themselves for those suicide gankers then. Maybe you guys should start running missions for your ISK?
insurance affects EVERYONE who flies a ship of any value.
so what if suiciders loose SOME isk while gnkign morons flying afk with eleventy billion isk in the cargo hold.
when "carebears" loose thier mission ship/s in missions they will be the hardest one to cry.

If your going to drop more than I spent on a boom stick its money in the bank with or without insurance. I suspect there will be more tear to come, just not mine.

What is fuuny in this thread is that people who whine most about so called carebears are in fact bigger carebears than their victims.
What risk is there in suicide ganking a hauler at the perimeter/jita gate, or how much risk is there in ganking some poor retriever somewhere in a belt . Logic conclusion suicide gankers are bigger carebears.
Yes i agree nerfing the insurance will not stop suicide ganking and I believe it is part of the game. If you are stupid enough to haul a few billions in a badger you deserve to be ganked. But in my honest opinion as it stands now it is a exploit and should be nerfed

Iunno but even with insurance nerf there still is a huge profit to be made ganking haulers in jita.

You just proved my point suicide ganking still profitable, only they need to work for it now

I suppose almost as much as he has a hard-on for carebears.

Well, no, it won't change a thing as long as people keep hauling 500m+ in badgers it doesn't matter what the BS costs.

Since insurance payouts will be marked to the average mineral price at the time of destruction (or maybe within the last 24 hours), I know I can't be the only one who sees widespread attempts to manipulate the mineral market to get huge amounts of payout from popped ships...

Looks like they're currently planning on updating payouts less frequently than I assumed (every month or so was thrown out there). Still think there's potential to game it, though...

1. You won't be getting full value of ship. Some ships will come close to the full value, but not quite.
2. Insurance adjustments will be made once every month or 3 (I don't think they've decided yet). But from what I read it won't be close to anything like 24 hours.

There's a lot of people in this game who have the patience and the wallet/industry backbone to do it. Especially if they can figure out the timing and window of when the marking occurs.

Uhm, no. I stopped insuring my ships since since I have the habit of getting them explode underneath me just minutes after the insurance has expired.
