It's a nice milestone to reach, I think. Sure, all it takes is time (and money...lol), but it's a lot of time and some skills are such a long slog.
I recently crossed the threshhold, myself (with Fighters V). It took me way longer to get there that it probably should have. I trained a lot of perception/willpower skills with an average of probably a 15 perception before re-mapping was available. Finished my titan training right before remapping became available.

Have to agree that character sales is undermining the exclusivity of the character; they simply never leave gameplay with the player. Thankfully the player have to report the sales in public, and the new owner must not pretend to be the original owner of the obtained character. This according to CCP rules. Personally I would never get rid of my character. It have been with me for soon 5 years now in good and bad times.
Oh well. The digression aside. This is a celebratory thread! And an Inquiry thread of membership application for the 100 million SP club! Maybe Chribba could make an addition to the EveBoard which single out every 100 mill character added and give them a unique signature or something? No hurry though, it will still be some months before I can apply

I ciould have had 100mil sp, but I spent most of my EvE-life in 0.0 PvP'ing, so I kinda never had implants (untill recently). So i'm stuck at around 80 mil sp. Not that theres anything I really WANT to train, except a 3rd & 4th race :)

if id been active for the whole time this characters existed id have about 80-90mil sp
due to a lot of rl issues (not least the fact that about 5 of my computers have died irreperably) im just about to hit 20mil sp :(

I'm sticking with ship related skills,and not the 392 skills in the game itself....The idea is to get the other 2 titan books,and the remaining exhumer skill,train those up alone with several others,so that by the end of the year,i'll have about 313 skills trained,and all of them at lvl 4 or lvl 5,and nothing below that point.
Basically,apart from research,corporation,social or trade skills,have the best trained char in the game when looking at all the races,ships and weapons capabilities...The ultimate anti nerf/ready for anything char...

I am a bit dissapointed there in the sense that while T3 cruisers are awsome,it seems that the rate of introduction for more of these T3 ships,is going to happen very slowly to say the least,possibly even taking several expansions,and the same can be said for T3 modules while we're at it(I.E. non Existant),and there are old chars out there who have a lot of skills trained up already,and are forced to diversify,since we'b be maxed out a long time ago if we had stuck to a single race.
I do realise that CCP is mainly attempting to make the game more popular and easier for the younger players by adding all this new content,but there are the old ones to keep busy as well,even if we're a minority overall.

Look at the amount of skills in game directly related to flying ships,and even though CCP have tried to diversify the game into other professions,with the latest being this upcoming planetary interaction update,the brunt of those skill list,if you want to fly all ships,totals about 270 skills,so there's only about 120 split between corporation/industry/social/research/trade skills.
If all one does is trading NPC items,then the skill list only has a few months of skills to train up,and the requirements to fly a freighter(even that is optional really),so the player wouldn't have anything else to train up pretty quickly..

I've actually gone to the trouble of planning the next skills to train up for the next 2 neural remaps,in such a way that i'll be training at the maximum speed the game allows,even though this list includes a lot of skills that i rarely use(if at all),but they are currently a part of my character list.
Between both remaps,i come up with about 700 days of training(roughly 2 years),at which point i'll hit roughly 175 million sp and about 200 skills at lvl 5,and beyond that point,i'll have to simply balance out my atributes evenly again,as there's simply not enough skills in game left for a third remap and maxing out 2 atributes,in order to train at maximum speed anymore.

The first remap for me is about 400 days even using intel/memory atributes,while i tried to make a 33/26.4 willpower/perception remap that could last an entire year,but it comes up about 60 days short,so for this second one,i'm debating if i should even out perception and willpower atributes evenly(say 30/30),so it gives me more flexibility in terms of skill choice for a full year run(or more).
Keep in mind though i'll still run my current perception/willpower atributes as they are(33/26.4),at least for another 6 months,and i've been running these atributes for 14 months straight,so i'll only face training issues come the february/march 2012 period,assuming no new skills are added in the meantime...No need to panic basically.
The only thing that ****es me off somewhat,is that these upcoming remaps contain a lot of skills to lvl 5 that i almost never use,just to keep the char training at max speed,so it somewhat ****es me off in that sense.

I like seeing the 100mil but I want to know how long it took you all. Age of character when it hits 100mil would be fun to see between characters. As now you can train at 24mil sp a year. I want to see people hitting 100mil at 4 years 2 months.

Although I am NO WHERE near 100 mil skillpoints but currently at 25 mil and my mate its at around 30mil..... and he uses +3s in 0.0 while I don't use any, havent for the past 4 months lol. Considering we started at the same time that's a fair chunk of points lol

tbh I was more stoked when I hit the 10,20,30 mil sp mark. Opening up the game as you train more skills is a lot more rewarding than pushing another highly spec'ed skill to lvl5.

Simple really,he was created as an industrial/research char above all else in 2003,so now he has to train skills on this particular char that have nothing to do with that anymore,as there aren't anymore industrial/research skills to train up,period....

After like 5 years and when i'm a grandfather i'll get to that lvl and you'll probablly have like 400M SP.
I can't wait for the 5 years that'll take me to get my accounts set up just the way i want to end.
Gratz for CCP's great skill training system.
They could even make an add:
Join CCP's EvE Online comunity today (31/10/2010) and strugle to control the empire, forge huge alliances, and dominate the Universe (I think they already advertise this :p) in 5 years when you have skills good enough to do it.
I think the system should be for everyone to be happy they are playing the game as they want instead of bragging about the x M SP i've finally acheieved in 7 years.
7 YEARS, OMG.
And you guys want to bring more people into the game how exactly??
Anyway, i know i'm probablly trolling, sorry about that, congrats to all the vets.

I will never make it to 100m, unless I am still missing skills I want, simply because of clone costs. When I hit 92 I will stop and switch to another character. What I am proud of myself is my immense specialisation and only consider my missile skills a total waste. Fortunately it's only 1.3m and not something totally silly like the 7m I have on another character.
Congratulations to all my veteran brothers and sisters, your achievements hearten me.
Edit: on second thought, there's only 10m difference between 100 and 120m.

I'm in! I got to 100mil 2 days short of my 6th birthday. Is that slow or average?
At about the same time I finished cyno field gen 5 which now means I can use every sub cap module but one, which made me think - can anyone use every object (module, ship, implant etc) in game? There must be some fairly close and it seems to me another big goal - perhaps the last great goal? Or is everyone keeping quiet about it??!!

I will arrive at 100M at the end of December, in 4 years and a half. So I think that arriving at 100M in less than 5 years is slow. I try to make good learnings, but I am not doing perfect learnings 32/26 all the time, so people train faster than me.

I'm sure alot of us are banking unallocated skill points for future use. Max learning skills and max reimbursed social skills together would total 7,168,000 points, I believe, for the max possible unallocated.

So am i right in assuming there is a theoretical maximum? As in there is a finite number of skills currently and the refresh/change rate can't exceed the train rate?
It's taken me around 50 days to do 2.6 million 0_o

Yes, 2700SP/h is the max learning speed.
You can reach 2970SP/h for a few days if you are using the Cerebral Accellerator with a fresh character.

Just for ****s and giggles, i maxed out all the skills i want to eventually train up to lvl 5 and using perfect atributes for all of them.....Keep in mind this is a char with nearly 160 million skill points right now:
For what's left of Perception and willpower skills: 279 days.
For what's left of willpower and perception skills: 302 days.
For what's left of Intelligence and Memory skills: 377 days.
958 days left in total basically, so roughly 2 years, 7 1/2 months of skills left to take to lvl 5, wich will add 51 new skills to lvl 5(181 skills in total),while the other 180 or so skills are at lvl 4...Nothing below that point.
Get your ass in fifth gear CCP...

Ideally it should be a 150 million sp club for those that aren't there yet, and a 200 million SP club for those already passed the 150 million mark...

135 million would make more sense than 140 million - at max speed that's 50,000 hours of training.
140 million comes close to a pleasing 6 years of training on maxed attributes and +4s (or pre-remap nearly optimal attributes) but otherwise I don't see why it would be a significant milestone.

To take that long is mainly due to not have the atributes maxed for the skills you intend to train, because with maxed atributes, we train about 24 million SP per year, and you're not that far off 175 million now.....It shouldn't take to 2013 at all under ideal condititions?...

I wonder why in-game and eveboard says 99.240.000 ish, while evemon says 100,200,000+.
You need to paus/start or swap skill for the ingame counter to be updated (something you should know by the time you reach 100m SP).
