Hi,
I have become fairly proficient at trading during my time in EVE - unfortunately I just love PvP too much to make mega bucks from trading. So I want another account to my two already. So i am considering getting another one or two accounts purely for trading to free up my main for pvp rather than use account as trade alt. Bearing in mind all accounts would never be in space at once... how many clients have you good people had running simultaneously?
I have a quad core processor and a dx10 512mb sub 1 year old graphics card with 3gig ram.. if that helps.
Thanks

I've had up to 7 running at once without any issues. That's not just randomly sitting in station, that's running a mining op with hulks, orca and transport. On my off the shelf laptop I've ran 4 with a bit of lag on the machine side.

I've gotten up to 9 clients running at once. (and do, quite often, yea mining ops? hmm, i think I may just shoot myself one of these days) Im sure I could run more as well, but 9 accounts is too much as it is. I run nvidia GeForce 250fx and 9800gts's (4 cards total, two outputs each, one has three) all running at 1920x1200 res.
Each eve client takes up aprox 700-800mb of memory, you don't ever want to swamp, so do the math. Just turn off all graphics and you can run numerous clients. If you're using multiple monitors, make sure you have each client set to the proper video output of the card/monitor its displaying to. (Very important) Ty CCP for doing this =)
I don't just play Eve, this setup is for something else mostly :P

I can usually run 5 without problems and I don't have any high-end machine.
What I usually do depending on what I do with all accounts is to open up the map on the clients that don't need focus, since that takes like 95% of the GPU load off that client.
So if it's a big mining op - just throw them into map-mode since you can just as easily do everything on the overview while seeing tht map - and the GPU won't have to render stuff.
