Edited by: Shinma Apollo on 04/04/2010 22:15:36 I can honestly say I was out drinking for this, but it still strikes me as appalling that, what with a fair number of devs in at least one of the alliances, they can't work predictively with the world management team to reinforce probable conflict spots.
I mean, quite seriously, how hard is to to simply put a check for "POS is owned by X" Pos was shot at by x, if pos is owned by an alliance of 132095739 people, and reinforced by an alliance (or any of the assembled alliances) of 2039578309278 people, there would be enough merit to warrant reinforcing the node.
The trend of having CCP put the onus upon the customer for many things it should full well have responsibility for as a developer has to stop. (Stewie for governor)

I'm truly shocked to hear of lag in a system with 800 people shooting their i-spaceships at one another.
We should document this new phenomena so it may serve as a warning to others. ----------

Thats EVE and big 'battles'. Crash another node, awaiting grid load, blob blob blob...
Internet paraolympics :)
This is sad that so many ppl are sticking to that 'big battles' laggy **** and devs cant or wont do anything about making things better.
Even if they fix lag even a little there always will be bigger blob to make and theres no sens to participate in such fights atm. WASTE OF TIME. For both sides.

Note that it's just one side that is whining, the other knows it would be really badly lagged and have learned to live with it.

I filled out the form every time if I know there was a good chance of a blob fest in a particular system. Granted sometimes it is still crap, it is always better than nothing right now. Seriously, it is not some super complicated form or anything.
Between the gazzillion alliances involved in this, you can not have the mindset of, "Bah, I'm not gonna waste my time filling that form out. I'm sure someone else already done it."
If you are a CEO/Director and are in the loop on where **** is gonna go down. Take the 20 seconds and fill out the form. Also bookmark that page on the in game browser to make it even faster to do. Stop being lazy!
Not a CEO/Director? Bug the crap out of the ones in your corp till they fill it out.
Also on a side note. CCP: NERF POWER BLOCKS!!!

I am totally aware that my post will be worth utter ****, but I have to say:
None of the involved parties is to blame, except CCP.
We had this game on a level, when it was able to handle fights like this one perfectly (well almost perfectly) well.
Then Dominion hit and things went terribad. I am not sure what you guys have done but it wasn't very good. Undo it.
If you ask me I blame the new fleet-management. It isn't afraid of anything but seems to create lag. Some of the modders pls create an OOG-tool that allows us to stay unfleeted and still coordinated. Lol.

That would be a good test, have us jump into eachother without anyone being in a fleet.

All I have to say about this is that I know it's not possible to reinforce every node, but please. The fights we've been having in X-7 as long as local stays under 1000 are *AMAZING*! This game would be so so so ****ing cool if we could just have the big fleet fights like dragon fleet gets to.

Edited by: CooCooKacHu on 05/04/2010 06:02:45 I think CCP is going to win this war. Can't even have a good fight anymore without your ship e-warping and then getting booted from the server, ultimately leading to the node crashing 2 times.
