...That's not what I'm saying. All I'm saying is that people don't drive to a firefight with children in their car unless they're participating in the firefight.
Once again, you don't know the ROE nor do you know the intel they had on these people. I'm not saying they didn't make a mistake and they were right to kill these people if they were civilians. All I'm saying is that it looks to be a case of being at the wrong place at the wrong time.
News flash: things like this happen in war, and this is just the tip of the iceberg. That's why war is called war, not balloons and butterflies. The fact that people are so outraged over this shows me that they've had their heads up their asses for the last ten years. It's a terrible thing, yes, but it's WAR. Of course, if your country's military usually wear blue helmets and go to "warzones" where all they do is get drunk and **** the local women, i.e. peacekeepers, then I can see why this is so shocking to you.
The other day German forces killed a bunch of Afghan forces in a fratricide incident. It's a tragedy, but it happens. Also, if you've never been to a warzone, just STFU. You don't know what you'd do in that situation unless you were there, and sitting on your ass a million miles away pointing fingers and calling people baby killers doesn't help your case.
Except this wasn't a firefight, it was people being gunned down then silence and then these people come driving, which could mean from far away and see the dead and injured. Not everyone is a selfish ass who would just pretend nothing was there and drive on by.
Oh really? How many times have you been to Iraq? Do you even know what life is like there? Do you know how the people react to these things normally?
This isn't your local neighborhood...IT'S A WARZONE. If the guy had altruistic intentions, he was just in the wrong place at the wrong time. However, he shouldn't have brought CHILDREN with him to the middle of a warzone. Am I still the only one who sees this?
So in fact the Iraqi people in the mini van are the real heroes, since they tried to rescue the wounded knowing very well death could come from above on any given moment.
