Gallente
The bane of tacticians everywhere. And why shouldnt they be? Too slow, badly tanked due to armor tanking's terrible buffer, no range on any weapon that deals actual damage...
The list goes on. Will somebody please outline a tactic that is accomplished by Gallentean ships that cannot be matched or improved upon by another race's SubCapital class ships?
CCP. Hear my prayer from atop your bone strewn tower! Boost Gallente, for they have become free kills in todays fleet warfare due to poor range, ineffective webs, and terrible speed. Do this and yo |

Oh thats easy, RR or just send them speeding into the blob, its win win! either they get into blaster range and melt stuff, and if they don't make it, well its only Gallente.

The bane of tacticians everywhere. And why shouldnt they be? Too slow, designed for shield tank but forced to squeeze in a minimal but laughable armor buffer, torps have practically no range while cruise missiles are weak in comparison... Their best contribution, the ECM Scorpion, is nothing but a giant bullseye protected by aluminum foil and pop like a pack of Pop Rocks accidentally dropped in the toilet.

Edited by: GavinGoodrich on 07/04/2010 01:23:35 Depends on what you want to accomplish, m8.
Gallente ships armor tank RR BS's rather well. Myrms shield tank just fine with Basis/Scims in support. Depends on what the objective is.
Edit OOH...and they have the best noobships of ANY race! GOOOO velator drone bay! \o |

Have a look at the domi as suggested above, It's a very versitile ship and can fit many roles.
Also have a look at a rail fitted sniper megathron, well fitted enmasse they can compete with any sniper combo.
Myrm is also a solid BC class ship.

I call it, "domi-blob" and it uses all-gallente ships and tactics.
Although I had initially thought of the idea before, I was really inspired by this fleet. (edit:pictures, woo hoo)
So, the bulk of the fleet is RR Domis (sentries, and full compliment other drones), setup with 2x large cap xfer, reps, and (optional) neuts/rails/drone mods. Alternate ships could be rail/sentry megathrons. You figure out what to do with the mids, lots of options here.
At least two phobos (so they can alternate bubble or focused point if one needs rep) are needed for most ops. The obligatory swarm o' ranii would be a good choice for tackle as well.
Support ships should include 2-3 lachesis with damps and points (armour buffer). These would sit in the ball and keep long-range ships out of the action (falcons anyone?) while adding to tackle. Also of course, the oneiros (1 or 2 or...7), buffer fit, cap boosters coming out the ass, with afterburner and a tracking link. Gotta use all those bonuses
10km diameter ball o' ships, with fast tackle tentacles. Death zone: anything within 60km (usually about max drone range). Ships that get really close won't have enough cap to run their damage controls. Ships that stay outside of the deathzone are effectively removed from the fight by the recons.
Domis circle-jerk the cap. One or two can fit an extra cap xfer for the oneiros, or if you have a few oneirii (?) they can have their own circle-jerk. Oneirii take care of the recons and tackle. Domis take care of themselves and the Oneirii.
