Edited by: Orree on 09/04/2010 00:09:14 Wasn't it the "South's" turn? If we go back a few years we had...
"Chow we're stealing your targets!" where BoB saddled up and went to go try to save LV and the North took a chance, tried to take advantage of the situation at the time and piled into the south (an invasion that ultimately failed for a number of reasons.
Then, the South came north for MAX, enjoyed some reasonable successes early on and then were soundly beaten in Tribute.
After MAX, the North went south again to help bail out the Goons which subsequently lead to the demise/dissolution of the GBC and total sacking of Delve.
Now we have the South heading north again.
Not only do I not see the validity of the "sheep" charge, I see the current situation as the normal progression of things and it being the South's turn on offense.
Where you see "and still they did not dare," I rather think it was more like, "and still they did not care." Even though the NC seems to have become pretty "Goonified" in its forum and local behavior, back when I was in Morsus Mihi, there was respect fo PL but not a lot of like and there was a fair amount of dislike for Goons (at least in RAWR, I think RZR was cool with both).
Even as part of a small, insignificant member of the overall southern bloc, I still think this whole passive North/sheep thing is way overdone and not representative of the truth.
Edit: Forgot to mention that I fully agree that Molle is more of an instigator/mover than anyone currently running anything in the NC. I just don't think it's true that the NC always sits back and waits for things to come to them. Sometimes, yes...and that isn't necessarily as bad thing.

The NC doesn't care about what BoB's current iteration does. The Southern alliances have a long history of not being a threat when it attempts a military conquest of the north. The SC is trying this same tired approach again.
Did you really expect anything different?
Protip: you won't beat the NC with Dominion sov rules on their home turf. MAX was bad enough using the old sov rules which were easily exploitable by aggressors. You should rethink your approach otherwise call this a friendly skirmish, because it'll hvr about the same effect as the last 3 times Molle's come north.

Quote: This isn't a thread about your national pastime, it's a deeply philosophical thread about the nature of mankind.
I saw a picture in our forums i think it is not too bad so i will post it here:
Picture
And i dont know if this goes to far but i know that in several universities mmorpgs are examined, like if there is gender bending, if pretty charakters cause other reactions than ungly ones (its stange but that is actually the case) and how and what people transfer from their social and cultural background into online gaming enviroments. Of course Eve with its large social groups would be a nice field of study maybe some day someone will take a closer look. Would be interesting to know if people from different countrys and cultures tend to different play styles.
That is what the thread should be abbout, but after the first sentence unfortunatly its only the common NC sux Sc rox... Of course little grunts in NC or SC has nothing to do with leader decisions for the chessboard, but for me personally playing the Quote: passive defensive role
is much more attractive than playing the agressor.
Quote: I could never respect a leader that never shows up to a fight or shows up in a covert Op while telling his members to lay it on the line. ThatĘs the difference.
I dont know if i would respect my leader more (i actually never though abbout such things)if he would waste everyones money by burning titan after titan. But sure if money is no problem thats fine, but why should i respect him for the risk then?

RHETORICAL RHETORICAL RHETORICAL - A very sweaty Windypops
- Only a third of any organization is active, the rest are alts or people who can barely manage an hour a week - Only a third of the active players are active in war, the rest are weekend warriors that jump in when it suits them - Only a third of this standing force is any good at contributing to the war effort - Only a third of these core players might give a damn about which group they fight
Meaning.. the wars between the south and the north and whoever else - its usually driven by one or two dozen people capitalizing on everyone else's desire to shoot anything.
The only difference is that the core players up north aren't as good at organizing invasions, so they don't bother. Last time they made any serious proclamation that didn't fizzle and get written off as a weekend op was when they where so spooked they thought their immediate survival depended on keeping sustained pressure. That isn't the case here, so in general... the south is free to keep slapping them about when its convenient/funny, knowing fully they'll never return it in an equal way. The south also secretly enjoys it, as all abuse victims do - but don't say I told you.
I could go further into detail but there would be a lot of butts hurt; instead I will deliciously decapitate this chocolate easter bunny I got from my mom.

I can agree with some of what you're saying here. I definitely don't disagree with your characterization of what constitutes a wolf and a sheep. I simply think it's a bit more complicated than this and that my experience on the other side is different than what a lot of you guys like to assume to be true.

I completely agree that the North isn't as good at organizing invasions. Once they get rolling, I think they have shown a fair amount of staying power, but I think it's pretty clear the preference is to sit behind the castle walls.
I agree with a lot of what you're saying here. Well rendered.

lolol, good one, good one!
Can I be a Parastratiosphecomyia stratiosphecomyioides? also known as Fly
Now seriously, the EVE universe is controlled by a single entity, this entity have just a few members, they have meetings about where to lead the universe, who gets at war with who, this way they prevent other people from getting alliances strong and they continue to control everything, they are getting large ammounts of ingame isks that will make them virtually virtually (no its not by mistake the same word twice) indestructible. Their aim is to make us all their slaves one way or another. A lot of people bow to this people, they are their masters and they wish they can please them in any way they want, that is why they bow to them!
Now seriously seriously, NC leaders probably been preparing for a new invasion of the north for a long time now, they got plenty of assets and isks ready to be deployed, lots of members, propaganda, and their leaders want to make another epic defense against "the forces of darkness" just like when that guy Sauron send an army to the middle land or whatever to conquer Randor or something. But then you see them losing half geminate and a few constellations in other places to alliances not nearly as strong as the SC, so maybe Im completely wrong and they are just a bunch of pussies.
