I propose the Minmatar frigate be called: Tiger.
It fits well with their T2 frigs so far (Wolf, Jaguar, Hyena, Cheetah). Also, its pretty badass.
Feel free to post ideas for the other factions T3 frigates. With any luck a game designer will see something they like.

Caldari: Owl
Gallente: Ceto
Amarr: Wrath

They're supposed to be significantly cheaper than T3 cruisers so I would imagine they'll be pretty common; just look at the current faction/pirate frig trend. People are willing to pay quite a lot for a frig provided it performs a role well.

Note: Tech 3 ships are modular. Therefore you only need one type of hull and the subsystems count for countless amounts of possible options.

Diviner doesn't sound very threatening. Sounds like a probing ship.
Lynx is nice.
Orcus is Italian/Roman mythology, not greek. According to the oracle Horcus is the equivalent greek deity.

If t3 frigs are going to be modular like the cruisers then I think Jackal is the best name for the minmatar hull. Tigers are pretty much pounce and rip to shreds anything it catches and would befit something bigger like a t3 battleship(hint hint ccp). On the other hand the Jackal is smaller and so has to use intelligence and cunning to get its prey much like a current frigate has to do.

Coyote is good. There is already a ship named Fox; albeit the Japanese word (Kitsune). Cougars and Panthers are essentially the same thing.

I, without a doubt, am in love with the name Sparrow for the Caldari. I would give many <3's and much love to CCP if they went with that. I don't know why, but it just seems...Perfect. I can just imagine the FC saying "Primary that bloody sparrow"

Yes I know. The Templar/Reaper/Valkyrie fail on my part was due to lack of sleep. Ive used valkyries, flown a reaper and seen the Templar meme a thousand times.

Like the other 3 people, I chose it because it's a bird of prey not something that's either requires natural yoghurt to relieve or makes annoying tweaty noises! Besides, it was an awesome jet fighter that changed the way people thought about 3 dimensional maneuverability.

Wow. All the minmatar names beside Jackal and Coyote suck ass, and they still aren't good enough. Minmatar have always been about speed and trickery. The minmatar T3 frig needs to have a perfect name. With that in mind, allow me to throw down a few suggestions:

CCP agrees with you...because it's already being used.
Not everybody seems to know this, but one of the agents in the Kamokor State Data Center is flying a T2 Bantam, and it's called a Sparrow. At least he did the last time I checked. Been a while.

The Owl should have been used for the Caldari covert ops instead of Buzzard, since Owls have silent flight and amazing night time vision. Someone at CCP was sleeping on the job!
Given that T3 ships are mutable, I think that names emphasizing trickery or adaptability would work well. Raven, as a bird, is both of these in real life and legend. Unfortunately that has already been taken by another ship, but perhaps some other related words would suffice...
Morrigan: From Celtic mythology. She often took form of a raven (or crow, depending on the story). I like the mythological connection here.
Corvus: The scientific genus name from Raven, but it's a bit boring!
Dotson'Sa, Nankilstlas, Nascakiyetl: All names of ravens from various North American tribes, but the names are a little unwieldy. Can you imagine your FC stumbling over those? Ha.
Amaterasu: This keeps in line with the Japanese origin of Tengu. This goddess was sometimes depicted as taking the form of a raven.

I'm less interested in what they are called, as I am in what they can do.
How about this idea: T3 frigates have a selection of 6 subsystems to choose from. None of the subsystems affect slot layout or weapon hardpoints - those are part of the hull itself. But they do offer bonuses to different things.
The trick T3 Frigates ought to be able to do it switch subsystems in space. Picture them being mounted to a turntable or turret, which has a capacity of 3 subsystems. Only one of them at a time can be rotated to the active position. Rotating the subsystem turret to put a new subsys into effect should be subject to session-change and aggro rules, so you can't switch subsys in the middle of a fight.
And that's my idea for making T3 Frigates something different than mini-Strat cruisers.

Well as far as minnie goes their names has been base from nordic mythology, so i guess something from the old writings that we got written on stones would be a great to have.
Heimdall the keeper of Asgard or mayby B·ri the first man who banged some unknown chick that gave birth to the three gods Odin, Vili and Ve??

Well, mine was more of a suggestion.. I'm fairly new to the game but figgured I'd throw my idea out for a Caldari Frig, as I fly mostly caldari and they tend to use animal names (Be they real or mythological) for their ships. I can try to come up with some for the other factions, but it seems others have done so far better than I could at this point.
Also, I've watched a shrike swoop down and kill another bird (I think it was a Wren or Finch) right in front of me, as in less than five feet away outside the window. The wren/finch was only a little smaller too. I think the name perfectly suits the frigate class as far as that goes, especially considering the shrike's abilities, but that's just my opinion.
