Dark Side Of The Womb

Why are players older than a few months tolerated in NPC corporations? They are the scourge of the game (NPC corps). The way I see it, they should serve one purpose only: somewhere for new players to start out.
CCP markets EVE as the "deep, dark, cruel, sand-box universe" - and in the most part this is true - but yet allows this NPC-corp loophole to still exist where thousands of RMT traders and mission alt's exist along with a following of players who do not play the game in it's true spirit.
The rise from 10% to 11% tax for NPC corps was too small an incentive for players to create or join corporations. There should be something stronger, for example: market trading tax goes up every month after the first six of the toon's life. This would be annoying at first but eventually 'force' the player out of the NPC corp.
For players that want to fly solo - creating a solo corp is quick and cheap.
Why this would be good for the game:
- It would give players the potential to fight against macro users / RMTs or make life difficult for them at least.
- It would improve the concept of the 'sand box' that is EVE. Players will be more encouraged to create their own corporations instead of just sitting in the NPC corps with 200 other players bumbling along
- It will make the game more exciting to players that think that being in an NPC corp in empire is a happy safe haven that they shouldn't leave. Being in a player corp is actually not as 'dangerous' as I believe it is perceived by some players and it opens up a whole range of challenges.

If it's a "sandbox" game, it has no true spirit. These people are playing in the sandbox as they enjoy, leave us alone.

Why do you care about what others do in the game they PAY to play?
You are just whining because you can't get easy targets. In this game just like in real life there are no easy pvp targets. Finding someone to gank takes a lot of work, skill and patience.
Oh wait, actually there are easy targets but someone ganked them before you

The first thing I did when I realised The Scope were taking 11% of my hard earned isk was set up a solo corp.

Ooh boy. Another self-rightous "Play the game how I think it should be played" thread.
Throw in the words "sandbox", "true spirit of the game", and "more challenging" to make it seem ligit and you have yourself an awesome OP about forcing people to play the way you want.

Yes. Its a sandbox. That means the player plays the game the way S/HE wants to! Not yours! So im sorry. But it would not have been a sandbox if people start telling others what to do, or structure the game in one particular direction. So for the moment I am in my own corp, mainly because the deep space is too demanding for me at the moment. I simply cant find time to be the asset the deepspace corp/allianceholders require me to be if I should take part in their world. And I find most NPC corp/empire corps annoying. So my own corp it is.
There are so much more but I wont bother mention them all. Its enough that I want to play the game as it is, and what I have done in the last two years of my soon five years in EVE!
To put it on the edge... :what would you have said if they started to remove deep space to make space for more empire space? As you know, most players in EVE keeps residence in Empire... Or so QEN tells us. And to take it a step further: Why should CCP listen to you - the minority?
Now, im against that ofcource. But Im against your "solution" too. My way is the middle way - and so far the way of the CCP: there must be a place for everyone! Empire residents, pirates and deep space dwellers.

Forcing people to leave npc corp arbitrarily is stupid, but there should be disincentives to linger around.
I think because you're more closely associated with a particular state/empire, your taxes should be much higher in other race's regions. So leaving NPC corp might be the only way to settle elsewhere outside of your home regions.
Additionally, the biggest problem is that 90% of EVE content is soloable, and doing the other 10% isn't necessary to make all the isk and ships you want. If teamwork weren't merely casually suggested, corporations would have a more defined reason to exist.

Keep NPC players locked in .9 and 1.0 systems.
This will have the added effect of limiting the ore they can mine. Then dramatically reduce the amount of Veld and Scord available in those systems, and remove from those systems all agents above L1Q0.
Now, if someone really wants to stay in an NPC corp, they can. And they can mone and run missions. But, if they want the "better things" in EvE, they have to come out from behind Concord's apron of invulnerablilty and take some real risks of being dec'd.
Tus sayeth the nublet.
