3. Book a day off work to receive delivery
3a. Wait indoors all day
4. Package does not arrive on the specified day
5. FFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUU
6. Online tracker says a card was left
7. They lied, there is no card
8. They attempt delivery the next day when you're back at work
9. Package is eventually returned to sender
Alternatively:
1. Order stuff online but get it delivered to your work address
2. Package arrives next day
3. Everything went better than expected

get tracking order f5 leave canada f5 on london f5 on paris f5 nothing
2 days later customs phone call agree to pay tax when get the box
2 days later get the ssd

the package is scanned at each point in the process, depots may run a script at some indeterminate interval that publishes the data batch. sometimes the driver is using their own vehicle, goes straight home after their route, and doesn't upload their handheld until the next morning or maybe later.
i've seen packages get stuck in a depot->route->depot loop in instances where the place is hard to find, or the address is otherwise incorrect and other reasons.
i usually use the tracking site against customers tbh lol. (I work for a logistics firm)

When I get stuff from Next's site I always mark the afternoon delivery slot yet the bastard who delivers for them around here always comes first thing in the morning before 9am. Last time he did this I mentioned I had booked the evening slot, he denies there even being delivery slots so I think I need to complain.
Just got a printer, ordered it Wednesday night and it arrived early Friday. The couriers in the UK are generally pretty good and even when I had to send out goods by courier daily in a previous job I didn't have many problems, if I did they were soon rectified.
