The word is out and we now that Dust 514 is in the final internal beta test CCP is having all the fun  . How is it preforming and how are the first impressions?
I am really looking forward to this new side of EVE, I do think a lot of players in EVE will gain from this and something new to relate to. I do think many players that are thinking it will fail will be wrong. I do think CCP will get new players from a new group ruthless players that will kill anything for any price. I am looking forward to kill them from orbit and kill my mates from ground from the planets. :)
We must just adapt to whats coming, it will be fun  my eve clients are ready and my Playstation 3 ..... the best from both worlds.

On a more serous note as much as I gripe about the NEX and CCP's boneheaded move towards MT I actually think the concept of Dust is brilliant and I hope they figure out how to pull it off. |

Dude, we need moar videos! The graphics are gorgeous, and we know you guys at CCP have been keeping the next generations of Spielbergs locked up in your basements, wipping them while they work out all the amazing trailers and teasers you guys keep putting out. Take for instance this little piece of genius, since we're on the topic of Dust. I frown when I hear of playstations and FPSs, but this got me on the edge of my seat, wanting for more!

not that I have a PS3, but CCP should put out a public beta months in advance before release. If not, pretend to be astounded of all the bugs and problems missed by devs and exploited by players.
Also the public beta testers are going to play the game how they want to, they're not informed or think like devs, so different behaviors and how they instrument the weapons / vehicles fall through, plus feedback on improvements before launch.

It was announced that Beta testing would go public around Christmas time I believe.

I realize dust is probably off another 6 months at best but I am planning ahead on how I want to make it happen. Anyways I want to run two monitors with a computer for one and a PS3 on the other. These links give the specs of the monitors and speakers I want to use. I heard the speakers need to be 5.1s and I will need an adapter. Could anyone talk about the adapter needed and some options of ones to buy?

monitor is fine. i used to use my ps3 on a monitor just slightly bigger then that before i got my TV. i have to warn you though that monitors aren't really great for shooters cuz you don't get to see as clearly as if it were a nice sized TV. you can miss the small things like a sniper camped somewhere that is barely noticeable. don't know about the speakers, since i didn't see what type of connection it uses. i looked at the monitor, doesn't seem to to have any audio out. HDMI carries both the video and audio. so both will be sent the to the monitor. i suppose you can try and see if you can send the audio via USB through the ps3 but then that would eat up a USB slot. you can always look at getting a monitor with built in speakers. |

I wonder if it will be like Eve, in the sense that Eve has PvPers, mission runners, miners, etc. to sorta break up the different play styles. It would be pretty cool if you could "run missions" and do other things on your own to get more isk or build your experience points since you'll be able to do so both in and out of game.
Any news on this subject, or is it planned as one gigantic Quake Arena fest? |

Knowing CCP there will probably be some insanely overpowered game-breaking sniper rifles in DUST.
2 months after launch there will only be 14 year old's running around quick-scoping eachother. Not giving a rats ass about the objective because it will ruin their KD.

the speakers will not work unless you have a sound card with a optical input on your computer if not or cant get
