Anyway I digress.
Could we have more regular dev blogs? I mean 1 week all the devs release a blog all at once? Even if they are talking about how they were doing mining while coding a cool new ship and someone suicide ganked their hulk while they were working would be a good read.
The best PR for you ccp would be more communication, not the once in a while blogs.
HI! I"M UR PR DEPARMTNET MACHCCINE!
Yeah, so basically the entire "process" that Mr. Soundwave Sir is talking about is me checking to make sure he doesn't reveal any secrets about Oveur's extensive spandex collection or CCP Wrangler's tastiest Ksldolmar recipe. Other than that it's basically a couple CCP writer types eyeballing the devblog to check spelling and grammar and make sure things are clear and unconfusing as best we can. Once the eyeballing is done, we just schedule it.
Just wanted to dispel any rumors that CCP's PR team wants to stand between you and the team that develops the game you love. If that was the case, we'd probably not host pub crawls at Fanfest.
And yes, CCP Fallout's job is myriad, but part of it is to be spongelike. It just translates into her videoconferencing Tourette's in real life :) Our team lives at the long end of a evolutionary chain of rage...
having the writers eyeball it is good, sometimes technical jargon gets lost to a bunch of players, they can clean this up.
However, can we also get the artists to draw a picture with every dev blog. If they cannot find one thing in the article that needs a picture, then just draw us one of those space ponies in mspaint More seriously though, the last devblog on the great deepspace nerf, while clear to most of us who actually read and attempt to understand the blog, drew a lot of heat because "you cannot bookmark 10au from -anything-?!?!one1question". A few player made pictures later and all was clear, but something like this really should have a quick dev picture with it.
Another great example was CCP Nimbus's art on the planetary interaction blog. Truely one of the best I've ever read just because of that picture!
