Level 4 Administration agent --> Kill missions?

Jack Ryan	Posted - 2004.12.01 07:25:00 - [1] I found out that the megacorp I'm working for has a good quality level 4 administration agent in a region near me, so I paid him a visit. Now, let's make it clear that I'm a courier agent runner, simply because I'm afk a lot, and basicly because I liked the risk/reward ratio. First mission I ask : kill mission --> I decline.. Second mission I ask : courier --> haul 39400m¦ --> don't think so --> I decline Third : kill mission --> I decline Fourth : kill mission --> I decline Fifth : kill mission --> I decline Now, what's wrong with this picture? Looks like this agent is in the wrong division??

Elithiomel	Posted - 2004.12.01 07:28:00 - [3] Admin agents generally give out approx 50% courier and 50% kill iirc. A base sample of 5 missions is not enough to tell if this is just random or a general error in the mission type distribution. --------------------------------------------- Engineers motto; If it doesn't fit, force it. If it breaks it needed replacing anyway.

I looked at my little hauler which only holds 7300m/3 and cried for a bit, then went to work. Now THATS a courier mission. After that mission i got shafted with a Kill mission involving 26 webbing frigates(25k each) 2 mercenary commanders (85k each) 10 cruisers (90k each) 1 BS (750k) and then 3 BS (1m each). Oh - and this is a Manufactoring Agent, lvl 4. Whee. ----------------- Billboard Evasion Rank(4) SP: 374100/512000

Went to the next level 4 agent in line (qualitywise), and it turns out to be a Marketing agent. Now this agent starts out with a 4-way courier mission for a total of 120000m¦, I decline, another 40000m¦, which I decline, and then a special delivery of 3400m¦ which I do.. Then guess what : 5(!) kill missions in a row. Total effective standing went down from 8.7 to 8.3 with all the declines.

I do not have gallente industrial V, and I don't plan on doing the training either.. So for me 39m¦ is 4 indies. I was doing level 3 courier missions before you were even born I bet (figuratively speaking), and my badger II only had to come out of my hangar once every 10 missions. My little trusty probe (520m¦ cargo), 8 times per 10 missions, and my thorax for the occasional kill mission. I understand that level 4 should be harder, but hey, this is actually tenfold (10x) the average volume of a mission, IF YOU GET A COURIER mission at all.

In their current form, nobody will set out to do lvl 4 courier missions (effort vs reward is better for lvl 3), and anybody aiming to do lvl 4 kill is just going to reject any courier he gets. Make them worth their existance, or just get rid of them completely.

And that's not the only problem, the other problem is that more than 50% of the mission offers are kill missions, which I subsequently decline, meaning in a net standing decrease over time.

Well, if at all possible, it can only be done with an Iteron 5, as Jack said. And I also agree that it's unfair that only one ship can easily perform standard level 4 courier missions.

Using Large Secure cans and 5 Local Hull Conversions (Yikes) you might be able to get around 25km3.
