Edited by: Madame Currie on 15/04/2010 13:51:40 When trying to patch I get a "null" error message when trying to automatically download the patch to the new version.
Manual patching doesn't work either, since I don't find the required file.
Assuming this is only a temporary problems, others might share.

Newest available patch is 144812 and SISI is actualy running on 145169, that would be the problem i believe. This is the error message i get when i try to connect, after just getting done patching with the auto patcher
You are currently trying to connect to the EVE test server which is running version 145169. Your client version is 144812. To upgrade your test client, please visit http://www.eve-online.com/patches/testpatches.asp. [This space for rent]

Any reason why 145169 is not on the website? And the autopatcher only patches to 144812, which is an incompatible build?

Edited by: SlayerOfArgus on 16/04/2010 18:15:45 I've tried the 141246 patch but I get an error saying that I don't have specific permissions to patch it. Is there any way to change the place of where the patch is going? It's going to my other profile on my computer and not the one that I usually use.
Edit: Just got it to work. Not sure what I did differently but it's good now.

Use this link, it shows server graphs and on the right side you will see each individual patch, including the newest one. For some reason the autopatcher hasn't been told about the 144812-145169 update.

Is there any particular reason the SISI auto-updater can't find the latest patch and we are being forced to go to a non ccp website to get it? or is it just that ccp can't be assed to do their job right and expect others to do it for them?

This test is up to CCP's usual standard regarding software tests. There is no auto patch, it has been very recently refreshed so no one is in the system the tests take place and the moveme channel has no one from CCP in it so you have to slowboat through possibly dozens of systems that all need to load first.
Everything has been made as difficult as possible to join the test.

No, its just that things are like they are with software rather than them making it as easy as possible. At the end of the day its a test server - at worst having to occasionally apply a patch manually when tons of people post the links and instructions to do so isn't exactly that bad. And re the moveme channel I know its a bit annoying - maybe they could implement an auto move and kick from channel every 20 mins or something - I dont know how difficult that would be. But its a tall order to expect them to employ someone to sit about on the test server just waiting to move people when they arent trying to test anything (and hence not be able to work on fixing problems found in said tests).
But instead of just having a go I will offer two things. Firstly, a Link to a page showing realtime server stats, including whether the server is up, which client version it is running, and a link to every single incremental update for both PC and mac, TQ (I guess that should be DM now? TQ sounds better though) and SiSi. So no need for anyone to come asking for links now, that site should always have what you need.
Second any unique ships/mods you have wont move with the moveme channel, so many people fly up transport ships anyway and they seem to cope just fine. Worst case buy your5self an intie, cover it in hyperspace velocity optimisers, ODIIs and cap batteries and leave it on auto. Alt+tab for a couple of episodes of southpark or whatever takes your fancy, and hey presto you'll be there... Remember 0.0 isnt exactly dangerous on sisi
I agree the mirror right before the test isnt perfect but if you notice all those 2 mil extra SPs you've got, well they have to come from somewhere and PI is the focus of testing at the moment regardless of one off lag nights. If you're willing to put it a little initiative and effort to take part then do so and help ccp out, if you're not then dont just complain about it. This is how it is and will likely stay, whatever the specific targetting of ccp's efforts are, the end result (EVE) I'm more than happy with...
