Is there anything illegal with blowing up someone in high sec and then converting the alt to biomass afterwards? I was thinking about using alts in ganking some players and then trashing them once security status becomes too low.

I've heard the following: * It is an exploit. * Being caught doing it can result in a ban.

Edited by: Gunnanmon on 16/04/2010 11:48:51 Just make a new trial account.
Edit: How can anyone possibly know you did this? All a victim can know is that the char that ganked them recently no longer exists. There's no evidence what is being done with the char that replaced the biomassed char, surely. Signature locked for discussing moderation. Navigator

GMs would know. They sit in their incense-filled room lit by 100 white candles, slaughter a chicken, look at the entrails, then consult the database logs and they have all the evidence that they need to cast their Fingers of Death over their keyboards that they may smite some rulebreaking miscreant. Some say that the database logs are all that is necessary and the other rituals are there just to impress the newbs on day-old trial accounts.

I don't understand either. Does this mean once I suicide gank someone I can never ever biomass the character? I don't think so. |

I think the rule specifically says you can't biomass your char if it's got neg sec

Its true.. I've been ratting up my sec on a few alts lately to free up some room.

The victim wouldn't have to know, they'd just have to suspect and report the incident. When the GM check he shouldn't have trouble determining that the account/ip is using the exploit.

Recycling alts to avoid sec status hits is not permitted. If you need further clarification on the matter, please file a petition here, select "Rules & Policies" in the first dropdown menu, "Exploits" in the second, and then ask your questions. The GMs can explain why it's not permitted.
Also, as a rule of thumb, for anyone reading this thread - if you're unsure of whether something is or is not an exploit, just file a petition and ask rather than discussing (potential) exploits on the forums.
Thanks.
