Aside from the insane acts of Kurj Valdonia, a few ship self destructions to try to escelate a fight from those on both fights and the inane comments of one Hasham Abbass and Jimius it was a fine memorial with speaches from CEO Gorion Wassenar, Yasmine Grey, Stiener, Natasha Kherensky, Albrecht Wessener and Halunoto Vankaalen.

just like the Caldari, to claim that murderous acts of terrorism are the work of a single individual, and to not be linked to the whole. the fact is, this race of automatons are completely unable to act independent of their CEO's orders. and along with their direct acts of terrorism, we saw much verbal support of terrorism this day. the few reasonable voices that spoke from the Caldari side are most probably this moment being subjected to the cruellest of punishments from their corporate overseers, for not towing the company line.

Edited by: Mather Maelstrom on 02/01/2006 23:44:35 There was much hostility from the Caldari present, but it must be said there were also voices of wisdom. I will repost my little speech here that got lost a bit during an unexpected warp out ((pc freezing, warp out a bit 2 early)).
We are gathered here to remember casualties, both Gallente and Caldari during a horrid war.
Do not remember and show respect to the death heroes that only contributed to the bloodshed as did the irrationals on Caldari Prime and some of the federationĘs leaders.
Let us only remember the innocents lost, remembering them is the only way to wish for a better future, because they are the only ones free of any blame.
Though we were under attack by a madman the choice of us to bring peaceful ships able to only repair, instead of conducting warfare, made us possible to support the ship being attacked till concord forces arrived.

On the contrary, Miss Doyle, the liberation of Caldari Prime is one of the greatest moments in the Federation's history.
There's nothing 'great' about the deaths of millions of civilians.
It is if your name is Hasham Abbas. Until your Federation deals with the people who see the darkest period in your history to be its best, the Federation's future looks rather... short.
Saying only millions died at the hands of the Gallente on Caldari Prime is a bit optimistic. Tens, hundreds of million died from the bombardments alone, but perhaps you were referring to the Gallente citizens still there, who in true Federation fashion, were killed and not even thought of. Expendable to the Federation it would seem, and yet Gallente dare say the Caldari cares little for life.
People like Hasham are abit twisted, for your sake, you'd better hope their hero, Blaque, doesn't become president or even the Republic is going to be made into an enemy by him.
Originally by: Hasham Abbas of course. but one can hardly consider the Caldari people. if anything, they're more mechanical than organic in nature.

I won't be the only person to keep this in mind when you're seen as flashing red on their ship display. I never knew jelousy of success was so popular in the Federation. It's understandable that you hate seeing how effective and effecient we are, afterall, so few of your people do anything other than talk about 'rights', while your standard of living goes down faster that the effectiveness of your empire's Navy.

An excellent memorial overall. There were a few last year who tried to ruin things as well, and I'm glad that those sorts haven't become any brighter in the interveneing time. I'm sorry I missed the last couple of speeches, will transcripts be forthcoming? -------------- Silver Night Director -Production and Science Have a question about Prime Fiction? Ask here!

A good, if lengthy ceremony. Was interesting to see that apart from the insane Kurj, I didn't see too much in the way of fighting.

Turned out to be a more chaotic ceremony then id hoped. Some, such as the fellow who charged headlong at those Gallante attendees, & other foul mouths seemed to want to cause a situation. However, the majority of both Caldari & Gallante who attended seemed to want a peacefull ceremony, which compared to what happened last year it can be called that. I only hope no rogue pilots on either side take the oppertunity over the next few days to cause trouble in either empires space.

I'd just like to say that I was thrilled with the ceremony. There were times when people fought, there were times when people said hateful things, there were times when I could barely maneuver my ship, what with the massive turnout, and there were times when the local fluid router backbone seemed about to collapse under the strain of our communications...but despite it all, the event was a highly satisfying experience. I hope we can do it again, even better, next year. ----------------------------------------------------------------[04:04:04] Tom Thumb > for a nut case you rawk

What a farce this ceremony was.
Hypocrisy and Censorship is not what the state stands for. It is not the way of true Caldari.
The lessons of the past have fallen by the wayside it seems, largely forgotten and misinterpreted. Replaced instead by a cacophony of ignorant and closed minded parrots.

Mather Maelstrom, you are the one who says:
Quote: "Our [The Cyrene Initiatives] motto should be: "We bombed Caldari 1, we're bombing Caldari 2 and we will bomb Caldari 3, anywhere they go we will bomb them."
And you had the nerve to not only show up, but to make a speech saying we should not respect the dead?
Unbelievable.

((Nooey please do not use OOC posts to quote my character on!!! I only showed respect to the people that didn't contribute to any bloodshed and I mentioned in local: "please respect the Gallente attending here too; only one of you mentioned gratitude so far." My respect goes to those few that appreciated our presence. The Caldari that didn't show the proper respect both ways, I indeed see rather blown apart, but my character isn't the type to shout that out during such a memorial. This memorial stood apart from the current situation. We all know that with RMR relations have gotten a lot worse between nations. However it doesnĘt mean there can not be given way to events that by their nature stand apart from such actions.))

Since you seemed to be confused (Or trying to back out of this) about what is is in character, and what is not, I'll make it resolutely clear))

((Don't even bother trying to tell me that motto is in any way OOC. It's clearly not, especially in the context you've given it. You say you RP a certain way, then give an example of it. It being RP. Hence IC.
Too bad I quoted you on it if you don't like being called a hypocrit, that's your problem. Don't tell me what I can and can't quote. You say something IC, I'll hold you to it.
I hate brackets in Intergal, but you just made them necessary to defend myself. If you have anything further OOC to say, do so privately please.

Mr. Zenobia, spare me your racist, ultra-nationalist diatribe. You can also keep your condescending tone.
Millions of millions of casualties are still millions of casualties. There's nothing optimistic about the deaths of civilians, Caldari, Intaki, Gallentean, or anyone else unfortunate enough to have lost their lives during that fateful event.
For a man who was most likely wasn't even alive to experience the war, I find your appraisal of the Federation mindset(civilians viewed as expendable) less than objective. My Federation and your State have been at relative peace for over ninety-three years.
Remembering the past is important, but it's time to move on.
