There are people exploiting the npc market earning over 30mil an hour. CCP imo should stop these types of trade as its bad for the game, there are people strugling to make a few mil an hour as this thread shows yet fairly new charactors are making 30mil an hour exploiting the npc market.. I just dont see how thats fair to others who play hard to earn what little isk they have.

Shocky how do you mean exploiting?
Anyway, now I have earned around 75 million isk from trading :) Once you get the hang of it it's really easy.

If everyone knew how to trade and earn 30mil an hour nobody would do anything else because its practically risk free. Where people who put and time and effort into mining, doing missions, npcing arent earning as much and with very high risk in 0.0. Now you tell me thats how its ment to be with a straight face..

Edited by: Dark Shikari2 on 26/12/2004 16:32:30 No, trade isn't worthwhile! Don't trade at all it won't earn you any money! Don't even look for trades!
(protects 60-million-per-run ~6-12 jump empire space trade route fervently)
My 1.1 billion ISK wallet? Just a fluke I say!

Ignore the button labelled market, you won't make money as it is for local people only.

This is a copy of the petition i sent to CCP after losing 20mill worth of Synth Oils. Sometimes I wonder if trading is worth it when **** like this can happen.
>>>> Subject: I just lost 20mill.
I tried to sell about 40k units of synth oil in Jita IV - moon6 - Hyasyoda Corporation Refinery at about 00:56 eve game time on today the 27th of December. I received an error message which said something like "The forge region is not currenly open for business plz check back later". I checked to see if my goods were still in the hangar but they had gone and my account was not credited with any isk. This is abysimal and totally unacceptable. Do you know how long it takes to earn 20mill isk trading ? It takes me days and if you dont refund me, make the goods reappear, or even reply to this message I will be terminating my eve account. If you do not belive me check my account journal and my assets for a trace of the 40k Synth oils I bought from Vullat which took me 2 trips to take to Jita.

Has anyone else had this problem of disappearing cargo when you try to sell it ?

For any newbies in doubt, Trading is a very viable method of accumulating wealth in eve. Pre-Exodus I managed to control the entire supply of Isogen for 4 constellations, making a measly 30% mark-up.
When you get heavy on it, some tactics to keep in mind are: Combine low orders: If you're target price to sell is 15k/unit for say 300 units and there are loads of small orders for say 300 units in the same constellation for 13k/unit, buy them all up, combine 'em with your batch and place a new sell order for 600 units. You force prices high, as well as make your order stand-out for lazy buyers.
If you're working on NPC trades: Know the maximum buy amount for the NPCs / hour/day and make sure you place your good for sale at their target price covering 7 days demand. Other players will think the station doesn't buy the goods and move on. You can then place buy orders at lower amounts, sucking up their supply and 'controlling' the station.
Go where no-one has gone before: Mentioned before in this post, but basically taking good from areas with high supply to areas with no supply.
Dominate a region: Many players are too lazy to haul, or only looking for one or two items that doesn't make region wide orders worth the effort. If you pick one region to supply many different kinds of stuff, then you can go low on price region wide, and it's worth the trips to pick it up, because each trip you return with a full cargo. Stack and sell the items at one point (like a hub) as a single sell order for a higher price.
Good luck! | Join eve-webring.com to promote your site. |
