Originally by: PeHD0M I think, that he is probably using 2 exploits: 1. no local chat (something with session changes, maybe wormholes) 2. warp to fleet member (somekind of eve process injection. If you are in the fleet with a target, you can warp to it)
With this, you can kill anyone.. even if the target is cloaked. A gamebreaking exploit, if it works.
There was a thread last month on test server about something like this being done [Amberlamps] Warp to 0m on anyone you want?

the poasters offering the injection 'theory' earlier, now appear to have some credibility? something else said was:
"a new UI via injection that we use to give us better FPS (the UI is the cause of most FPS drop in Eve) and control in fleet fights and in roaming gangs"
seems the client may need to be rewritten for more than just patching this no-local exploit. a new UI in the need for speed has already been realized, but not by our devs? |

& Grath was willing to sell me his bridge, losing his only place to sleep, to keep covering this PL UI up...epic sacrifice to the cause |

"Nothing the EVE client can do can affect the game state, no advantage can be gained by manipulating the EVE client, no advantageous or disadvantageous information can be transmitted to other EVE users by altering the EVE client." ~attributed to CCP in first pb comment responding to Abuser's python source leak, now a full 2 years ago.
Even tho it's injection, so the client isn't modified directly, a response from CCP on the exploit will need to address this claim.
PL trolls back under their bridges? They've known this was real all along, has been for a long time, & did very well trying to derail it, hiding the truth in plain sight while dropping pooh all around it. |

back to hiding under packet-dropping bridges. & eve-search still has the record of their denials |

Originally by: Certero I'll be waiting for this just to troll in new threads about EU and US botters
So far I have great appreciation for the Russian EvE community's contribution in bringing this issue to light, and respect for their overall self-moderation in response to PL's racist trolling to obscure the real progress that has been made. No need to look forward to sinking below their level. Don't help them to derail the issue, this is not about macros & bots, it's about exploiting the client, and needs to stay focused on that.
We have the no local part, what about the insta scan & warp to victim part. Please let the investigation continue without hugging the doodoo strewn about by the monkeyshine crew. |

Originally by: Aja Jinn 1.Send out cov-ops (does not show up in local) to sit on the macro ratters. 2.Killer team (does not show up in local) jumps from system to system to kill targets. 3.Profit

I agree, that's been clear from the start, but there has also been raised the 'teleport' question of crossing too many systems in too short of time. Those that have just recently figured out the pf are still coming to an understanding of what else can be done; lol internets has apparently had a couple years to play with it |

Originally by: Zarstrax certainly not consecutive kills in a small amount of time.
Without needing to add a fancy teleport feature to this bug, if he can join remote locals invisibly, he can find subsequent targets several systems away without needing the time necessary to jump through systems hunting. Send the cloaky spotter directly to the next victim 3 jumps away and the killships follow after they finish up. Saves alot of time, & can be covered as 'lucky'

Originally by: Ay'a Remove local in Null Sec Problem Solved.
Yes & no. Always thought no local in wh was good, & may have even been a ccp first step toward implementing it eventually in nullsec too. No local in wh space has probably contributed to its popularity, & I think would increase the number of players willing to explore nullsec, which would be good for all involved.
But the exploit would still exist in all other regions. And there is a likelihood that there are further features, available thru the same method that has been demonstrated, but have not yet been publicly revealed. The way the client & server exchange info needs to be fixed |

Originally by: Zeba curious if anyone has managed to catch him in the act?
In the early pages of the thread, Lee Kin recounts himself and a group of covert gate watchers observing The Monkeysphere pass thru a series of systems without appearing in local, and said screenies were made. 'Seems credible', but what is proof?
PL et al has spammed the thread with enough disinfo to gag a maggot, starting with nonsense posts & Animal Farm and progressively attempting to "stack ****" higher than a hung dead python. If the Lee Kin account is true, then among that group of pilots, there is proof. The larger community can only wait for CCP to harvest all the info they've acquired & hope that the logs can be analyzed in a manner that will reveal something that the perps are unaware of.

Originally by: Silent Wispa What I mean is, its absolutely impossible for anyone no matter how bright to decypher what means what with the Eve-Online client stream in a mere 2 hours.
Not to disparage Estonian bandwidth at all, but even good internet can be flaky on occasion, & it seems very likely that the story on the first page has enough 'true rumor' to go on. & at least one other poaster reported having observed the same thing under similar circumstances, even the feature where someone already in local doesn't see the interloper, but someone joining afterwards does.
Once a loss of presence in local is noticed in conjunction with an intermitant disco, even trial & error fiddling with pf rules could reproduce results. 133t "decoding" skillz may speed the interative process up, but probably isn't as necessary as you believe. |

By your poasts your alt-ness has seemed well aligned to the PL camp. I commend you for decloaking & locking onto the primary as their bubble bursts & you warp out. Thanks so much for verifying that The Monkeysphere is exploiting. |
