First, the snowballs melt, then the shuttles are spying on us! Next thing you know, sleepers are going to be pouring out of WH space to invade!
This signature is useless, but it is red.

Originally by: Aleida Zas What. People actually use those worthless things in w-space? Even in k-space you're more likely then average to just get ganked by someone who wants to fill out their km list (I wholly approve), in nullsec sitting in something that can't cloak probing is nuts, and in w-space with no local it's even worse. If the Zephyr was unprobable it'd have some use, at least as long as someone wasn't dumb enough to sit at a celestial or anom with it, as it is it's outclassed by every t1 frig (or any other ship with two high slots) in the game.
The only use I can see is that of a scout ship. After a WH sig or anomaly is probed out, send in the Zephyr for a quick look-see to assess the tactical situation. Since sleepers won't touch it, you can take a bit of time to solidify your plans, warp-in BMs etc.
I personally haven't used it in this manner, but for anything else the Zephyr doesn't make sense.

Edited by: Soapy5 on 20/04/2010 21:40:21 so after looking at the evelopedia pages, the woman in the image is definitely santimona. and i doubt santimona and silphy are sisters, since they came from different families. the previous chronicles indicate a friendship, but nothing more; this chronicle, however, seems to indicate something alot more between the two

I'd assumed from the illustration that Santimona is Amarr, given her tattoos. _______________________________________________ 'The illiterate of this century are not those who cannot read and write; but those who cannot learn, unlearn, and relearn.' |

Honesty, I was kind of hoping it was going to be Amarr. :( Need more chronicles on the Dark Amarr I think. ;) |

My big question is whether or not this chronicle is hinting at a major change thats going to occur in W-space. Clearly the in-story Zephyrs saw a lot more of the universe than the in-game Zephyrs did and now powerful forces are using that information and data for something.

I had the same feeling about the story. Hinting at datacores, wormhole data, The Ishukone and some form of larger plan for the Zephyrs as a whole; I was wondering if this was heading toward some other form of T3 ship or parts for invention?
No clue really, but interested to see the rest of it play out.

"Consolidate all the data received from the Zephyr program, everything those oblivious capsuleers have given us on wormhole space."
This is where my blood boiled and I suddenly went "Son of a..!".
OOC: Sure, they were Sisters. They definitely are not biological sisters. But the nuances of their interaction in this story hints to...more intimate relationship. Something that I, as a male, am not able to ignore

Silphy leaned forward onto the table once again and shot her counterpart a seductive grin. After a few seconds of silence, she asked, "Do you ever miss it?"
Yeah deffinately not biological sisters

Edited by: Pottsey on 21/04/2010 12:23:16 The Zephyrs comment made little sense to me. There are whole groups of pod pilots sharing all wormhole data. What on earth could Zephyrs pick up that we pod pilots have not? Why go though all the trouble and costs of Zephyrs with hidden recording data when they could contact any of us wormhole research teams and get all the data for free? The amount of ZephyrÆs in wormhole space pails in compression to the amount of other pod pilot ships gathering and sharing data.
They call us oblivious capsuleÆs. But it seems to me they have spent a large amount of isk trying to trick us into something we are doing or would do for free and they could have got without spending all that isk on shuttles and without upsetting so many people. Why ruin your reputation and waste so much isk?

Hmmm, I wonder what data the Jovians gather from our Apotheosis shuttles.... I use that one a lot more often.

Originally by: Rek Jaiga As for the relationship between Santimona and Silphy, the emphasis on the word "sister" during their mock-argument makes me think that they are indeed sisters, perhaps.
I think it's something a little different. If you know what I mean.
Nope. They're actually real sisters. It's all in the backstory.

Calm down...All Earthicans envy us Godians.
And if the program is a functioning Trojan Horse, then it's value only increases the longer it remains a secret. That's too much leverage to ignore in a world where you need to smuggle drugs past Concord gates. And the routes always time out, so the Trojan creates a subscriptiuon payment model to whatever cartel that signs on.
They might also be hacking the Sleeper AI...
