As of this writing BMBE interest rates have been halfed to:
0.50% interest per week : 50B ISK loans and above. 0.75% interest per week : 15B to 49B ISK loans 1.00% interest per week : 1B to 14B ISK loans.
So you can now get a +50B ISK loan for as little at 2%/month (4th weekly)
Interest rates have been ever so slowly declining over the last year or two and BMBE has to follow that trend if it's to stay relevant.
It's been my observation that over the past couple of years the loan market in general has been subsiding - or rather changing. A change towards fewer loans in general, but those on the other hand being very much larger (in general) - Which is exactly the niche BMBE has been trying to cater to since day one.
At the same time there appears to be more an more " piles of idle ISK" around as well - and some owners are trying to utilize those piles by putting them forward to be used for loans - thus increasing the loan market competition.
Also over the past couple of years, there seems to have been fewer and fewer "grab quick and profit" opportunities in the EVE market in general, where players suddenly need a quick influx of liquid ISK, for which loan institutions are the obvious solution.
Also in the "medium market" (~10B-35B ISK) range, it would seem that more an more un-collateralized loans are asked for, and with the increased amount of "idle ISK piles" around, those seems to get filled more and more often - I attribute that to the fact that ISK would appear to be worth less and less, not due to inflation as such, but due to more and more players having more and more ISK, and as such more and more are willing to take a chance on un-collateralized loans.
This obviously further cuts into the market for collateralized loans.
I don't see the this trend changing, in fact I predict it will only continue to get cheaper and cheaper to loan ISK.
Hence the need for BMBE to lower it's interest rates, at least for now, to stay competitive.

I agree with you. You could go back a lot of time ago and check my posts about my "EVEBOR" interest rate benchmark and how I also had noticed it was going down over time. Auditing | Collateral holding and insurance | Consulting | PLEX for Good Charity

Interesting.
What are the outlined requirements, if any for each level of loan. |

Seems reasonable. Another thing you could do is advertise BMBE loans more on the forums. I do lurk quite a bit here and I don't really remember seeing any loan offerings from BMBE... (or maybe I don't spend so much time reading the forums as I think I do :P). But yea, just a suggestion. |

There's but one requirement : Collateral.
If you have it, you can get any amount of ISK you want (as dictated by the collateral) - No questions asked
The duration of the loan is completely up to you as well - 1 week, 1 month, 1 year - Makes no difference to me. As long as you pay the weekly interest.
To put a bit of perspective on it : You could loan an incredible 100B ISK, and you would only have to pay 500M ISK/week. - and if you cant make 500M ISK/week with 100B ISK well...

What we need is a proper good BMBE scandal or something, that would keep MD busy for weeks |

Back when I had some BPOs laying around I used to borrow ISK from TS. Good dude to do business with. I don't always play EvE, but when I do, I prefer it to be a masochistic sandbox hell. Stay wardecked my friends. |
