Jita had belts. Kisogo and Jita used to be connected directly by gate. There where no titans. BoB was still there. The tutorial was awfully long and it didn't give ships and skill-books to you. 0.0 was the subject of much hyperbole. Curzon Dax made funny music A well known and respected forum warrior namend Dark Shikari stalked the forums. Crumblecorn's desu sigs where a common sight in the forums too... The cyno-effect was much cooler... |

Concord didn't exist.

You must have been the only player without thousands of bookmarks 15km behind every gate. Not our fault you suck at Eve. |

Making endless amounts of bookmarks so travel wouldn't take forever.
Spending forever waiting for the client to copy the bookmarks so you could share them with the corp.
Battleships were the biggest ships.
Sometimes you'd hit dock and step away, because you ship was going to slowboat into the station, and come back and your ship didn't dock. Sometimes this resulted in bad things.
Couldn't customize the jukebox.
No contracts, pi, salvage, scanning, cap ships or pos's.
Trade goods were bought and sold by npc's. Fledgling traders would spend their time buying garbage (yes, literally garbage, among other items) in one system where the npc's sold it cheap, and transporting it to another station where they paid more for it. |

dude... how did no one (including me) not mention:
- Setting an alarm clock to wake you up in the middle of the night to change skills
- Changing what skills you were training daily (setting a long skill on every night you went to sleep, setting <10h skills to train whilst you were playing

There were no ship previews , only a small Icon picture on the description. When you saw a new ship in space you took pictures of it and sent it to your mates. |

A few more brain cells fired together...
Early Caldari description had them described as "good bounty hunters".
CCP added a background description to each player based upon how their original and unchangable attributes were set-up.
Players were able to have up to two "words" for a name, unlike today's option of having a ~middle~ name.
Star gates were all one size no matter if they jumped from system to system within a constellation or off to another region. So everyone clustered a small distance from them upon landing and making gate camps more vicious. |

Randomly you'd hear a loud bang and your screen would shake. You then knew you had about 5 minutes or maybe a bit less to get out of harms way as it was going down.
Likewise, sometimes when you jumped a gate you'd land on the other side to the exact effect of being slammed with cruises would give you - thus making for many near heart attacks.
Ummmmm.
Nope, thats the cool memorable stuff thats not been mentioned. Odd most of the memories are coming from game broken/braking stuff.

I remember one day my alliance was defeaded by our enemy and beeing stuck at a station that was suddenly theirs. It was 23 jumps to high sec where we where regrouping and when i tried to get a gang together to scout my freighter back with a few billions worth of stuf in its cargo, everything i owned back then, I got stunned because everybody had already fled and i was left behind. can you see the picture of a scared pilot making 23 jumps alone trough nul without scouts and enemys possably around every corner? it was one of the most fun and exciting things a ever had done. |
