was wondering if the mining missions for corporations provide anything other than the normal mission rewards/loot/lp options. im a miner and a mission runner and just discovered mining agents, and i am mainly wondering if they provide harvester drones/ named strip miners/ etc

It's been awhile since I've done one, but all mining agents provide are mind numbing missions mining worthless rock and gas clouds for little LP, isk, or self esteem.
And when I say "worthless rock" I don't mean they have special ore which is not regular ore, can't be processed into minerals, and the exact amount in the mission must be turned into the agent or you fail.
And you will be required to gas mine as well, so make sure you have the skills trained and the equipment.
I personally would avoid them.

thanks, as im looking into alternatives of normal combat missioning i thought this might be a help, but i doubted it.

Problly the coolest mission i had was a random lvl 1 mission where you had too mine some mineral but would get attacked by pirates while doing it. Would be nice if they added some lvl 4 variations like this.

Alot of the mining missions are long and tedious. If looking to get that standing to get your 5% refine boost....cheesy couriers and combats tend to be real quick missionss to make it happen much faster

Advantage of mining missions is that you can do them mostly AFK. Granted, couriers work AFK, too, but they require more attention when they should be similarly effective. For a non-combatant, mining missions are the best way to earn LPs and standing around, especially as the LP rewards are quite good, compared to courier missions.

For NPCs that dont offer many combat missions, I use mining missions as way to gain standing much quicker then with run from station to station missions, and, as mentioned by others, the LP from mining missions usually pertty good
Yup ... they are tedious ... but just another way to grind in EVE when grinding is what you have to do to obtain your goal.

If you can fly a hulk and have gas cloud harv 5 are not bad most of the missions up to lvl 3 can be done very fast but some of the lvl 4 ones can take hours if you use the wrong ship or not great skills there is one gas harv mission no rats if done in a hauler with one t1 harvester takes about 6 hours not bad if you get it when gonna log for the day can just leave eve running and when you come back complete but other then that a pain

Nothing involving mining will ever let you sit at the cool kids table.
But if you are mining, then some missions give you some [more] private mineral opportunities.

I just assumed mining agents would be more likely to give these out, but I am not sure.

First for the rewards: they don't offer any other things then any other agent. No Faction BPC's, no special modules, ... Only corp where you can get named Mining Tools is ORE and their named stripminers etc are just better in range nothing else.
The Mining missions itself just got one or a few spots of the mission objective. Never even got a lousy veldspar roid etc.
There are a few combatmissions who provide large belts who can be seen as private belts. Most of the time large roids of Scordite/Veld and sometimes Plaq/Omber/Kernite. Some missions can provide a little low/nullsec roid but even a novice miner will be abel to mine this in a few minutes.

Mining missions used to have some merit when they first came out, but they were quickly nerfed so now the are not very useful. They beat AFKing hauler missions, but that is probably about it.

Mining missions are VERY GOOD for ONE THING.
When you're trying to grind up your corp standings for R&D Agents, you get courier mission after courier mission. These give a very small increase in corp standing.
If you have a Hulk and an Orca (2 accounts - I'm not suggesting you leave an unpiloted Orca in space), you can very quickly knock over a mining mission and get a decent corp standings boost for not much effort. Even with just a Hulk, you can get through it fairly quickly, but having an Orca to load your ore into is a bit quicker (45,000 m3 is only a few trips in a hulk) and the Orca can field some mining drones as well. (A Covetor or Retreiver works at a pinch, but it can take a fair while - obviously the more mining lasers and bonuses you can aim at an asteroid the quicker the mission is done - these smaller ships make the Orca more desirable so you're not warping back to the station every cycle).
Mining and Combat missions don't come along that often with the R&D corps, but offer a good corp standings increase for the time expended.
