One of my ships is missing in the station I am at, yet it shows up in the assets window. View toggeling, and client restarting have no effect. Any ideas?

do you have packaging in your hanger?
if so open it, it will be your ship.
after a while of not being used a ship will be packaged in wrapping for storage (happened to me with my noob ship).

I play this game over a year and this is never! ever ! ever ! happen to me, and i have well over 50 ships around EvE space... so how this can be happening to you ? there is no other explanation that you have done it by your self and just simply forgot it.
For the original poster best bet is to petition it, maybe some bug maybe some strange station malfunction :) made your ship to vanish....

I play this game over a year and this is never! ever ! ever ! happen to me, and i have well over 50 ships around EvE space... so how this can be happening to you ? there is no other explanation that you have done it by your self and just simply forgot it.

I did petition, just waiting on it. I emptied out my cach even. It's server side. And this ship was just a few hours in my possesion when it happend.

I am having a similiar issue:

See if clearing your settings helps, corrupt settings can cause ingame items and information being shown incorrectly or not at all. It can also cause players, ships and items to function improperly. Open your ( "C:\Program Files\CCP\EVE\Logs" If you use the old cache system. The new cache system saves the information under C:\Documents and Settings\%yourusername%\Local Settings\Application Data\CCP\EVE on Windows 2000/XP and "C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Local\CCP\EVE" on Windows Vista ( note you have to have "show hidden folders" ticked in "Folder options - view" to see those folders
rename the settings folder to settings2, re log and see if all is as it should. Do note that copying the settings folder or any of it's files back may cause your problems to resurface, this includes the prefs.ini file.

a note, the prior "fix" did nothing more then revert my settings to default (requiring me to go fix them all again.)

Yea same thing here. happens when I Change ships the newley selected one is invisible although undocking clears this..till the next swop.
