I was in an NPC corp and I created a new corp but I'm still currently in the NPC corp. Eve charged me the isk for the new corp and when I try to make it again I'm told the name was taken. When I search the corp name eve tells me the corp does not exist.
Does it take time for the new corp to form? If so, how long?

I picked both. I already created and was charged for the corp but was never placed in my new corp. When I tried to create the corp a SECOND time the game said it was already taken.

They -JUST- refunded it. heh
Edit: The corp name is still taken. It was not taken when I created the corp the first time.

Creating a corp is instant. However, you can't (obviously) create a corp with the same name as another corp but more importantly, you also can't use a name that's already been taken by a player. So in my case you can't make a corp called "Marko Riva" as that name is already in use, by a player.
The ticker is a tad different, you can't duplicate an existing corp ticker obviously but you CAN use a ticker that's used by an alliance (and vice versa, making an alliance you can use the same ticker as a corp providing it's not already taken by another alliance).
