Dont you think it would be nice to have module for t1 and t2 ships (in low or high slot) that would reduce the heat damage from overload? Effectiveness of such module would be a subject to discuss of course.

Any offlined mod acts as a heatsink for a row of slots (hi, med, low). So fit an offlined salvager.

an empty slot works better as a heat sink as the slot does not take damage but does absorb as much heat as any module offline or otherwise.
if you have nanite paste and might need a salavager that can work ;p

Edited by: Funfactor on 30/04/2010 08:41:30 I'm talking about something more effective than an offlined module. Something that would be worth fiting instead of the dmg module or one turret/launcher for example.

If you already leave empty slots to absorb the heat, then this idea would be useful to you. If you don't, then the idea is just an 'idea'.

T3 ships have subsystems with 5% Reduction in the amount of heat damage absorbed by modules per level.
This illustrates the main idea. It brings more diversity.

Ever seen anyone fit that subsystem? iirc it gives the worst powergrid of all the engineering subsystems, possibly screws something else too.
I mean, I own it, but I've never thought 'hey, if only I could overheat my LSB a bit longer...'.

Hey i give just an idea :) Powergrid issues are related to t3 ships. I'm talking about t1 and additional effects (like less powergrid) do not have to be involved. On t1 ships small or medium weapons burn down quite fast. So heat reduction modul could be interesting option.
