I think you should focus on sorting some of the more broken stuff then speedometer and shield armor bars.
Like damn show info window with so badly organized attributes. 99% of new people dont know where to look for ship bonuses or what do they mean ... sitting them in description is not ideal. Attributes and fitting panel are so hard to watch and check take a lot of time etc... and compare tool could use revamp... And Better in game search function for items. Eternal Will. |

Don't forget the contract system is a nightmare as well both UIwise and concept wise.
ie: Consider you can't courier contract goods to be delivered to a third party, there's no reason why private contracts should ever expire etc.

Think also about all the macro-miners. If the GUI is modified, all the bots will be reprogrammed. The complete OCR software to adjust it. In turn, the market would collapse because there would be simply no more minerals (not enough).
The writer of this paper does not consider that there are macro-miner. He plays only a question of what might happen if they were there. What he does not asserted.

I do plan on completely working through the entire game and rebuilding the UI. This is just where we are right now.

I can partake as a tester of some sort, if you'd like me to. I have to work on a RL job around clock just to get myself afloat, but I'll put my time in it.
It's because I cannot hide my disgust toward the way EVE UI is organized, and designed. Ever since I started putting my pod in the space, I've always wondered if CCP ever thought through the process in user's prospective.
For e.g., orbit menu is too clogged w/ bunch of ranges that don't help when you're in hurry to shoot in someone's face. When every second counts, do you really want to carefully select from what range you want to put a point on your target?
There should be slicker, more intuitive, and cleaner way to engage in EVE than what is now. There must be. Let CCP at least realize the point. |
