Since when do ISD/GMs open chats with new players to have a chat with them?
Can anyone confirm this is happning?

it used to be a thing to do with STAR but afaik it was pretty much abandoned along with all the other interactive events.

when i did the trial like 5 years ago now or more gm convoed me like the last days of my trail, asked me what other mmos i played, was eve too difficult, what i thought of the tutorials etc. was a nice chat lasted maybe 20 minutes while i was wandering around thru low sec alone running from rats at the gates, ahhh the good old days.

We do have several GMs convoing new players, offering them advise, assistance, seeing how they like the game, and so forth. The newbies are the future, after all. 
This program is by no means new, but it's been much more active as of late.

ISD STAR has been doing this for quite some time now. They snag unsuspecting newbies and start torturing them with advice.

Indeed, we always have been and still are greeting new players and having a chat with them.
We have been doing this without a break pretty much since the beginning of eve, even though we obviously don't reach everyone due to the sheer amount of players there are.

A buddy of mine finishing the tutorial a few months back had a chat with ISD/GM, and he is like my hero now, somehow manage to make a ****load more money than i am.
I think they take a few chosen ones and tell them all the secrets.

*shivers* This sounds to much like the Catholic-Priests propaganda-machine... Guess the GM's will be switched around from system to system in a little while... to hide theire true agenda...

Accordingly, GMs/ISD should try to open convos with vets and have a chat with players.....and then scam them.

Can you institute a policy where you ask the CEO of the corporation where that new player is in if a chat with one of his/her players is allowed/wanted?
I donĘt particular like CCP messing with my training schedule of my new players in corp...
I had to do a bit of damage control last night after one of my new players told me he had a chat with a GM who had given him advice on things.

Wait, you seriously want them to ask the ceo if it is okay for them to talk with his minions? While eve corporations somtimes makes you wonder if it is true, in principle they are still free persons who can perfectly decide for themselves who they talk with.

This is actually something i try to do every time i am in a new player system.
Requires some patience but its worth it.
Hell any player over a year old should do this. It can be very valuable.

I once had a person from CCP speak to me, I think their words were along the line of "please don't troll in the help channel, this is your only warning" or something along those lines.

I think people would be a lot happier if GMs allowed people to let off steam by killing them
After all, GMs don't work to get their hax ships anyway.
