Please listen carefully I am in absolute love with EVE. If the developers stopped all progress on the game right this minute I will continue to subscribe and play. It is by far the closest example of what a sandbox space game should be.
Now brown nosing complete. Why is there no ship appearance customization? I love the way strategic cruisers appearances change with the different sub systems. I am not asking for every ship to have a different sub system like the SC I just think it would be cool to put my corp's logo or just change the color a little. No need to super huge textural changes no need to add damage sections or anything just maybe a tri color scheme that was changeable.
I mean you can spend hours in character creation and barely see your character. But your ship which you see all the time has nothing but slightly different modules.
Being able to have a corporate color scheme would allow for instant corp recognition and actually give you a better reason to use the look at function.
(Bare with me) Star Trek Online did customization very well. In fact I believe that was the only thing that was done really well by the game. Every time people talk about EVE some one mentions the core concept about the game that it is all about "Ships In Space".
I just want the ships appearance to get the same love as the character creation. Besides to make walk in station is only useful if you are in a station. If you are in astiaon all the time you are missing out on 99.9999999% of what make |

Edit: OP, i guess you can see now why CCP have had to be very careful with how much customization that the players have access to. Its hard to advertise as a dark, gritty, dangerous univers with immature player flying around in gian pink thoraxes aor pasting stupid crap all over their ships.

Yup and at fanfest they stated they would only allow alliance logo or something be displayed on the ship, in fact i think CCP Screegs (might not of been him) said something along the lines of "If we allow people to design their ships all we will see is a hole load of giant p.enises on all the ships and we dont want that". |

Most likely they will allow you to change colors from a preset pallete and add corp icons. Anyway, it will be a welcomed feature.

Same reason they do not have custom corp logos. everyone and their brother would be customizing stuff and taking up more and more memory on the servers

Wasn't something like this available on Sisi for a short time....say last year? I remember reading some posts about people being able to play with settings. If true then I can only surmise that the reason it's not here is due to performance issues either clientside, serverside or both.
Probably for most of us it'll be yet another feature we turn off to reduce ingame lag. I can see entering a system like Jita becoming a real pain having to load all those custom skin jobs.
