I wouldn't liberally mix Sansha/Jove current affairs with Jove/Sleepers events of one year and half ago. Besides involving the same race, let's remember that the Isogen-5 incident was more related to Blood Raiders than Sansha Nation.
Quote: Could it be the Jovians are "gone" ?
Well...
...How long they've been silent? I didn't hear (= read) from them since a very long time.
*A droplet of ice cold sweat runs down Kat's spine*
Well the last time we heard of them was during the Empyrian age, more precisely at the end of the novel where an eidolon tries to make it through the eve gate but fails irc.
I didn't get the impression they failed as such.
Quote: He was the last living creature aboard a ship that was hurled through Point Genesis, which - contrary to Empire Lore - was not at all what it seemed.
If the Jove and the Sleepers are essentially the same thing then I wonder what the connection between the EVE gate and W-space could be?

I've been thinking about the reference to W-space as Anoikis. Perhaps the name does not refer to the condition of the Sleepers themselves, but rather to the actual star systems and how they are connected to each other and the universe around them. After all, we still have no idea where those star systems actually are, or perhaps were.
It seems odd that the Sleepers would spread themselves over several thousand star systems and then rely on chaotic, semi-random wormholes to get around. They would have had stargate technology, so why the wormholes? We know from recent events that those wormholes can be controlled, so why are the ones in Anoikis in such a mess? Was is always like that, or is that just part of what went wrong there?
Another possibility is that the Anoikis wormholes were all static until recently and the sequence that caused wormholes to start appearing all over K-space also had the effect of destabilising all wormholes in Anoikis and breaking the Sleeper data network in such as way as to leave all the enclaves reduced to operating in an apparent standby state. Some of the Sleeper sites do after all have the appearance of having been recently damaged.
The Sleeper drones seem to be there as much for maintenance reasons as any other so perhaps the reason they are so keen to attack us is because they believe we caused the damage that has recently disrupted their vast, but delicate data network.

Some Talocan structures in w-space indeed are stargatesm according to the info sheet. Or more likely WERE stargates...
If you are referring to the static gates at the Quarantine Areas in Class 5 systems then I got the impression they were only meant for in-system travel, rather like an acceleration gate.
On a related note I got the impression the Quarantine Areas are quite important. The info sheet for each part of the Talocan facility seemed to suggest people were being quarantined and then being processed in some possibly sinister fashion.
Some have suggested the Sleeper enclaves hold the remains of digitised humans. Perhaps these Talocan facilities were where this digitisation process began as a means of dealing with the infected.
I recently spent some time roaming through W-space in a covert-ops frigate, looking for clues and trying to investigate some of the sites others have mentioned. I was disappointed to discover I could not get the extra pop-ups others have seen while I was cloaked or in my pod. I'm not sure how much a lone wanderer can do to unravel the Sleeper mystery if a sizeable fleet is required to clear out the Sleeper drones first.

Regarding the Bright Star. I was under the impression (I read a convincing argument somewhere) that that was the Terran end of the Eve wormhole collapsing/detonating with the light from that event only now reaching us.
It seems a lot of people are interested in collecting information about the W-space stars. Some of the sleeper facilities have observatories and some of the parts and salvage that most interest the empire factions seem to relate to data collected regarding coordinates in time and space.
It's possible this all just relates to the mapping of wormholes in W-space, but perhaps the Sleepers were trying to work out exactly where the W-space stars actually are in relation to the rest of the universe. Perhaps the reason the Sleepers were/are asleep is because they were waiting for the unique light from the Bright Star, a known major observable event in time and space, to reach them and then use it to calibrate their observations and get a fix on the location of all the wormhole stars. That is a project that could conceivably take a VERY long time to complete.
My suspicion is that perhaps the W-space systems are in fact spread throughout the universe with each one appearing in a different galaxy. What we refer to as W-space may in fact be a hub that will ultimately unlock access to many other galaxies for exploitation.
There is some kind of a link between the W-space wormholes and the original Eve wormhole. Perhaps the Eve wormhole was just what the mini-wormholes we find in W-space will eventually become when they stabilise. Perhaps the Sleepers were experimenting with some way to accelerate the stabilisation process.
Nothing is forever and maybe the first settlers to New Eden just unwittingly crossed the Eve wormhole's mass allowance.
I must admit I currently have little hard evidence to back up my theories, but I thought I'd throw them out there anyway as I feel the real solution to this W-space mystery involves and stars in W-space themselves, and not side issues such as whether the Sleepers were Jovian or not.
Something to consider anyway.

Regarding the number of W-space systems. There are 2498 according to the static data dump. If you happen to try plotting a map of W-space using the coordinates in the data dump you get a giant spiral pattern with the lower class systems nearer the center and the class 6 region bunched up right at the end. As those coordinates aren't accessible in-game I don't think it's worth drawing too many conclusions based on that layout.
Perhaps more interesting are the locus signatures of the W-space systems. They range from J100001 to J235953 and are not spread out in any obvious pattern that I could easily detect. For those who track the locus signatures of interconnected systems it may be worth keeping an eye out for any kind of mathematical relationship between those signatures. My hunch is those signatures are not random.

Regarding unusual locus signatures. I have found three in the database:
J1340+6 J1259+0 J1226-0
Very odd.

Originally by: Razor Blue Has anyone ever tried just podding themselves at The Mirror? I would test it out myself but i need to find class 6 wormhole.
I have to admit, I did consider trying this a few weeks ago as it's the only path I can still see to follow. The nature of and barrier between life and death seems to be a strong theme in this particular story.
However, my clones are expensive and I'm not sure I want to lose a clone, implants and a nice ship just on the off chance I might get a new pop-up. I'm in a class 6 at the moment though on a sightseeing tour so maybe I'll have a WTH moment and go goo myself anyway.
If you happen to find my frozen corpse, say hi.

Thanks for saving me the trouble of blowing myself up in a Class 6. While scouting around I found the site 'Integrated Terminus' in a class 4 binary system which I don't recall visiting before. When I warped to it I got a pop-up suggesting it would reveal some new insight into the interactions between the Sleepers and the Talocan, but the site never spawned. Neither did any of the others of the same name in the system.
Searching around it appears others have been able to get to the site in the past and have received new pop-ups from destroying certain structures. Perhaps it's time to be a little more invasive in our investigations and see who turns up to complain when structures start exploding. Those Talocan structures already look pretty fragile so I can't imagine it would take much to dissect them. Maybe Sleeper enclaves have weak spots?
From my excursions through W-space it appears the systems are so densely populated now that for there to still be significant stuff that has not been found we must be required to do something far outside of anything we would normally do while living in W-space.

Glad to see I wasn't the only one wondering if that particular chronicle also had something to say about the present predicament.
Somebody is still stuck in that maze it seems.

I should think that at a certain technological level the distinction between shield and armor probably breaks down.
Having said that, the Sleeper drones lack of shielding may simply be due to the fact that ancient Terran technology includes a rather nasty weapon that turns a ship's shields against itself. The Minmatar Elder fleet discovered this to their (substantial) cost when faced with Jamyl Sarum's Isogen-5 powered, Terran super-weapon.

It means 'String.'
My assumption is it relates somehow to String Theory, which depending on which brand of hard sci-fi you are a fan of, tends to feature heavily in many stories involving wormholes and other interesting things involving space/time distortion. On this basis I would guess the Oruze related sites are somehow involved in the creation and/or maintenance of wormholes.

What, might I ask, is your source to state this so factually?
A few people linked to the definition a while ago (just Google the term). I thought I recalled Dropbear linking to it also a while ago and in another thread, but I couldn't find the reference so maybe I'm wrong.
Originally I thought it might refer to a string of structures linked together, but then the String Theory idea popped up and seemed like potentially a good fit.

Very much wondering this myself. Dropbear has been quiet of late. I don't know if that means we are thinking along the right lines, he despairs at how completely wrong we all are, or something is about to happen in-game that will render our speculations completely moot.
I continue to look out for things that others might ignore in W-space, but I'm rapidly running out of ideas. One of the static WH exits in the system I'm currently in did do something mildly interesting (which I can't comment on for security reasons) when it respawned today that gave me a brief WTH moment, but it could just be a fluke with no deeper significance.

Originally by: Jowen Datloran Before you go on with your string theory, Ivvor, maybe you could fit it together with this:
Originally by: The Mirror
Oruze Enclave: Directory 1.0 Solar Engineering 1.1 Photoelectrical Engineering 1.2 Thermovoltaics 1.3 Residential 1.4 Residential
I'm still not entirely sure about the sun/light connections. I don't think it's as simple as the Sleepers using solar energy to power their facilities. More likely there's some direct solar manipulation going on somewhere that may tie in with wormhole manipulation.
I also think there's some deeper significance to the various local spatial phenomena. Perhaps they are artificial. I'm in a Cataclysmic Variable system at the moment, and the whole scene just looks so dramatic, it must mean something.
Really, there are so many possibilities, I just haven't been able to narrow them down much in my head.
Originally by: Jowen Datloran
Maybe 'Oruze' is more in this direction. Except there are no other supporting links which should have been there (the falcon, the eye).
Not sure I see the connection unless you perhaps go down the route of who the Sleepers might 'really' be and come to some very interesting and likely quite controversial conclusions.

Another funny coincidence I found. Since the chronicle series about the creation of the wormholes is called "End of the world" does this mean this The Prophecy of Macaper has already happened or is about to happen.
I've looked over this before and my guess is the fourth prophecy refers to the Seyllin incident. The fifth prophecy may relate to what is happening at the moment. The sixth could be interpreted a number of ways, and the final prophecy is I believe when we will discover the truth about the EVE Gate and the events that led to its 'collapse.'

My understanding was that additional content was created along with Apocrypha, but we just haven't unlocked/discovered it or just put all of the relevant pieces together yet. When we do there'll be some kind of payoff. Maybe that payoff will be something big, like new Tech 3 stuff or a load of new WH systems and sites to explore, but it might also be a bunch of pop-ups and some chronicles explaining everything.
Whatever the case, there will always be certain gamers who will do anything to hit that difficult achievement that nobody else bothers with because it's too hard to get. If the payoff is judged to be worth the effort, either in terms of lore progression or 'cool stuff happening', then many more people will get involved in CCPs little interactive storytelling experiments in the future. If not, then they'll have to stick to spoon feeding us everything because nobody will think it worth it any more.
I've been playing Eve since it launched, and nothing has got me as interested in the lore of Eve as much as the Sleeper mystery. I got used to all the missions and sites as being essentially filler content. Now I find I need to pour over chronicles looking for hints and clues and realise how much more there is to Eve's lore.
I wonder if 'Eve has plot?' will eventually become the new 'Eve has sound?' Something that was always there, but most people ignored it because they regarded it as completely broken and a distraction to their gameplay experience.
I play Eve with the sound turned on now...

I'm sure it can be automated if someone coded an API lookup specifically for it, but I'm also sure it would generate a grand total of zero unvisited systems.

I did something roughly along these lines and filtered out as many systems as possible, checking the rest manually via Dotlan. The results were that of 2498 systems checked, all have had activity within the last 28 days, and most within the last week or so. Class 1 systems appear to be the least frequently visited by quite a margin.
We can speculate on whether system #2499 (or indeed #2500) exists or is in k-space, but it doesn't appear to be making it's presence known by any obvious search of the systems database.
The class 4 site 'Integrated Terminus' still appears to be broken so investigation on the relationship between Talocan and Sleeper is going to be difficult.
Has anybody tried to interact with the class 6 site 'The Mirror' lately to see if it does anything else or has any interactive features? I'm hoping to get a Zephyr there at some point but events in my home WH are preventing that at this time.

someone needs to find a mirror and die near it. possibly repeatedly.
Somebody already tried this and nothing happened. It was worth attempting once, but I think trying again would be a waste unless you are really that committed and desperate for any scrap of new information.
I've reread the chronicles a number of times and I don't believe the exact location of Burreau's apparent death are that important in terms of a path we can follow. I think she did something prior to her death that we are currently unaware of that may be more significant. I don't think suicide is the answer.
An interesting thought that occurred to me recently after reading somebody else's analysis of The Mirror is that the purpose of Burreau's exploits may be to provide another link between the Sleepers and the Sisters of EVE. It is very subtly suggested in the chronicle that Burreau may be/have been or at least worked with the SoE in the past. It is perhaps significant that at the site where she apparently dies, one of the enclaves appears to contain information on what the EVE gate is and how it works. The SoE would be rather interested in that I'd assume.
My growing suspicion at this point is that if there are any more major in-game clues to solving the w-space mystery we are missing then they may not actually be in w-space. The SoE, SoCT and rogue drone connections need to be investigated, but I have no idea how to go about this.
I ran through the epic arc that relates to interaction between the three groups, but frankly it left me with a lot more questions than answers. The ending of the arc in particular. The rogue drones may be the missing link. Just what is their stake in all this?
My fear now is that we are not going to learn much more of real significance other than what is drip fed to us via the occasional cryptic (even if well written and otherwise enjoyable) chronicle or waiting for the next expansion (the return of motherships eh...).
I believe it was once said a genius would be required to solve the Sleeper mystery from the clues that remain. I suspect that genius would also be required to be telepathic at this point.
