Incarna / Ambulation has been "Just an expansion or two away" for the entirety of my EVE career, and I somehow doubt that it will come out for a few years more. So yea, seems like PI and DUST has altered their path for ambulation. My honest question is would I have preferd Dust + PI or an earlyer Ambulation release.. I have to say that no doubt in my mind exists, Ambulation would do more for CCP than this Dust stunt

Stuff like space combat, the map, inventory handling, corp management, science and industry, the contract system ad infinitum. You know, all the stuff that's been beta quality and barely usable ever since it was released, was always slated to be 'just a foundation upon which we intend to build cool new functionality' but which has languished unmaintained for the better part of a decade.

After all, who will use your crappy features if you don't force them into it? Looks like with CCP's attitude docking in any trade hub will go dock -> suicide bombed in the docking bay -> respawn in med bay -> suicide bombed until you revert to a mentally disabled child -> lose all your skill points -> quit EVE.

Boarding parties don't work in space because of doors. You could technically blast a gaping hole in the hull of the target ship and get in that way, but what would be the point when a killmail is just one volley away? Edit: Remember that the lives of the ship's crew is meaningless to us as capsuleer pilots, so we technically have no motivation to let you board. ;)

Combat: Ship damage is still just a progress bar with the ship exploding at zero with no damage effects whatsoever. Even dumb units in RTS games have damage effects whereby they operate less effectively as they take damage. UI: It would be nice if the Overview actually worked. Corp Management: All corp financial data is erased from the DB after 7 days. If you export the data via the API you only get bits of it. All data about what contracts were for is irretrievably lost. For a game that revolves around corp operations that's utterly ridiculous. Corp Management: Still no way to securely organise equipment in hangars. Locked containers don't seem to do anything at all even if you bother to wait the 10 minutes or more it takes to actually lock or unlock the items in one. You can't put fitted ships or other containers in containers, and to perform most operations you have to empty the contents of the container into your personal hangar. Container operations at POSes are even more nonsensical. Corp Management: You can't even select which wallet you use to conduct simple tasks like insure ships for corp or pay bills. Corp Management: POS management ignores title system completely leaving you only 2 roles to configure all access to however many POS assets your corp might have, which effectively means that you have no way to implement proper corp security. I'm not saying no work has been done, just that all the important stuff that has needed fixing has languished unaddressed while CCP continue to make the situation worse by adding more half arsed stuff that is either horrid, unfinished, or just doesn't work properly at all (or in some cases a combination of all three).
