Gallente Easy Co. Important Internet Spaceship League

Originally by: ddemec cant remember the matchup, but last year there was very close fight, where the last tengu (as far as i remember) killed 3 or 4 hostile ships and won :) was really exciting comeback, after losing all ships except 1 tengu in first 2 mins by one team :)
You're thinking of Eve Online - AT7 Day 4 - Laconian Syndicate Vs The Important Internet Spaceship League
That's one of my favs too, but I like the fight from the same alliance tourney wherein three MWD Dominixes popped out sentries and MWD'd across the field right on top of the enemy, abandoned their sentries and popped out Ogre 2s and laid down the pain. Unfortunately I don't have the link for that! Anyone remember that fight and have a link?
Of course when BoB got owned by thoraxes it was great! The long-standing alliance tourney rulers got smacked down in what could only be a foreshadow of the demise of the in-game alliance.
I'm going to have to cast my vote for the hero tengu, as much as I wish it was based on bias, I wasnt in BDEAL at the time. I think it was just an amazingly close match, and who can forget "RUN TENGU RUN!!!" Easy Co. |

How about showing some of the classic matches from the early tournies? Especially the ones that aren't readily available to view anymore. Bob vs IAC, the Impoc dying, ect. Maybe air them during the breaks, instead of the standard trailer loop. Or before it starts, something like that.
Be a nice trip down memory lane that I'm sure most players are too new to have seen.

I don't actually think they have that footage anymore. The only old footage readily available is from the 2nd tourney DVD, which had a rather poor selection of matches.

My favourite of all time has to be from, I think it was AT2?
It was DeStInY vs I dunno, but it was back in the day of you had to field 5 ships...well, it came down to the last 2 ships, DeStInY's Ishkur vs the other teams Megathron.
Needless to say, the Ishkur was winning and was about to kill the Mega when he went out of arena range and got popped...oh how we took the p*ss out of him for weeks...

AT6 TRI vs KIA - KIA comes in with trip megathrons and nearly wipes out TRI - some of the best Curse piloting in the history of EVE pulled this one out.
AT6 TRI vs PL - PL comes with Bhaalgorn, TRI takes KIA's setup and ****s PL with it. "Tell KIAEddz *that* is how you use megathrons", etc
AT6 FINAL - TRI vs EVOKE - fast paced back-and-forth match that came down to a mega vs a curse and I think a pair of ruptures. Mega ran out of cap just as curse was finally webbed (drones died)

Besides the AT4 Thorax charge, of course, my shortlist:
- Impoc death courtesy of CoW in AT3 - The TRI finals in AT6, was a fantastic last-minute swap for victory, as well as the finals coming down to a lone heroThron - The various heroTengus of last tournament
Btw selfish request - CCP, I swear you guys probably have these things on DVD somewhere. Pleasepleasepleasepleasepleaseplease sell these DVDs, shouldn't cost that much plus past glory is only awesome if you can watch it, IMO.

My fave was last day of AT6 G00DFELLAS vs Dead Terrorists when the Nighthawk piloted by 'The Ice' managed to kill that Abaddon solo.

I have alwaays had the hots for ASCN vs. MC 2006 for some mysterious reason. Might be sexy Gallente pwnage combined with pure awesome nailbiting closeness and nice tactics.
snowball finish ftw :)

Or the follow up where they surprised everyone, especially Manifest Destiny, with a fast Minmatar fleet and took the field extremely quickly.

How about AT2 I think it was, where a tempest dives headlong into the DPS of the other team and ends up surviving at <5% structure, was loading with cruiser and old-style NOS. Likely the most entertaining match of the early years. Otherwise the CoW killing the Impoc was great!

By far all the RUR matches (AT6) that ended up very close for them (apart from the fight against PL because they used navy caracals).

The AT6 match with the Honda Accord vs....somebody, where a HA Raven pilot turned on his own side, killed the team captain and then tried to self-destruct. I think that somehow, the HA team still won.

I'm probably biased though as I was there..
That was AT5 and was a brilliant match actually, good call. AT5 was quite a slow tournament fights wise, but it was still exciting.
Originally by: TeaDaze The main memory I have of AT5 was certain now CCP employees and their fine scarves
Yeah that was funny and when they both took their pants off and stood up to commentate. Also the Star Trek mock image of SpiralJunkie was hilarious!
EDIT: I miss Spiral actually, why doesn't he get involved anymore?

That would be AT2, no interceptor duels post AT2.
AT3 had this; Blowing the own horn.
A match not many got to see back then as there were some disturbance in the force. Not our best game but the biggest splash as it was our very first game and first PvP action for one or two of the pilots on the team even if I recall correctly.
Should/would/could have, HAVE you chav!

My hands down best match of awesomeness is this. BoB Vs Star Fraction AT4. Though we can all agree the match was great, I just love the commentary.
For me, it is a toss up between the BoB vs Gank Squad and this fight.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7g_kQw_b0SQ
It is the AT7 Day 6 Semi Final of Pandemic Legion Vs Manifest Destiny. It just showed pure **** vs strategic cruisers imo.

Heck even some sort of voting mechanism Could increase interest in the game perhaps
For example, my fav's That Thorax & Tengu matches are really re watchable

I remember some Ruptures fitted with artillery powpow-ing quite hard, that was awesome.
Edit;
I think I found something...

Can't remember the match or the tourney, but my favorite from the vaults was a team in a conga line escorting a single Deimos across the field into blaster range. Odd that I don't think we saw a Deimos at all last tourney. Maybe that will be remedied this time around. Cruiser hulls have always provided fun in tournaments, and with the way last tourney went I wouldn't be surprised if smaller ships moved out of the support role they seem tethered to. That PL Minmatar setup had better be on everyone's mind as these teams prepare.

Hero tengu from AT 7 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=he8bc4_cbs8
I can't remember when and where the hero vigil one was.
There was also a hero tanking curse in the semifinals of AT 6 that was great. Anyone got the link to that ?
That was a great one! I also liked when one team got a large number of frigates, or cruisers with extremely speed oriented fits, and after getting laughed at they decimated the match.
